City DescriptionQuenemo is a city in Osage County, Kansas, United States, along the Marais des Cygnes River. The population was 468 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Topeka, Kansas Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Quenemo is located at 38°34′49″N 95°31′40″W / 38.58028, -95.52778 (38.580413, -95.527895).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.1 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 468 people, 169 households, and 128 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,121.9 people per square mile (430.2/km²). There were 192 housing units at an average density of 460.3/sq mi (176.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 93.16% White, 0.21% African American, 2.99% Native American, and 3.63% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.43% of the population.
There were 169 households out of which 42.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.8% were married couples living together, 16.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.7% were non-families. 21.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. ...
