City DescriptionPrairie View is a city in Phillips County, Kansas, United States. The population was 141 at the 2000 census.
Prairie View is located at 39°49′54″N 99°34′24″W / 39.83167, -99.57333 (39.831737, -99.573324).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.4 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 141 people, 63 households, and 43 families residing in the city. The population density was 926.2 people per square mile (362.9/km²). There were 77 housing units at an average density of 505.8/sq mi (198.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.87% White and 2.13% Native American. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.13% of the population.
There were 63 households out of which 27.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.7% were married couples living together, and 31.7% were non-families. 31.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 27.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.24 and the average family size was 2.81.
