    Parker is a city in Linn County, Kansas, United States. The population was 281 at the 2000 census. Parker is the hometown of U.S. Senator from Kansas, Sam Brownback. Parker is located at 38°19′44″N 94°59′27″W / 38.32889, -94.99083 (38.328875, -94.990795). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.7 km²), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 281 people, 96 households, and 67 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,018.1 people per square mile (387.5/km²). There were 109 housing units at an average density of 394.9/sq mi (150.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.51% White, 0.36% from other races, and 2.14% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.36% of the population. There were 96 households out of which 43.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.4% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.2% were non-families. 24.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
