City DescriptionMilan is a city in Sumner County, Kansas, United States. The population was 137 at the 2000 census.
Milan is located at 37°15′25″N 97°40′29″W / 37.25694, -97.67472 (37.257057, -97.674712).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.1 square miles (0.3 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 137 people, 51 households, and 36 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,070.1 people per square mile (406.9/km²). There were 61 housing units at an average density of 476.5/sq mi (181.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.35% White, 1.46% Native American, 2.19% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.19% of the population.
There were 51 households out of which 29.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.8% were married couples living together, 13.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.5% were non-families. 21.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.24.
