City DescriptionMatfield Green is a city in Chase County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2000 census, the population was 60. It is part of the Emporia Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Matfield Green is located at 38°9′35″N 96°33′43″W / 38.15972, -96.56194 (38.159609, -96.562013).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.5 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 60 people, 31 households, and 18 families residing in the city. The population density was 314.9 people per square mile (121.9/km²). There were 34 housing units at an average density of 178.4/sq mi (69.1/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 100.00% White.
There were 31 households out of which 29.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.2% were married couples living together, and 41.9% were non-families. 38.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 22.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.94 and the average family size was 2.56.
