City DescriptionLinn is a city in Washington County, Kansas, United States. The population was 425 at the 2000 census.
Linn is located at 39°40′49″N 97°5′8″W / 39.68028, -97.08556 (39.680240, -97.085422).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.9 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 425 people, 164 households, and 102 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,270.9 people per square mile (497.3/km²). There were 186 housing units at an average density of 556.2/sq mi (217.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 100.00% White. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.47% of the population.
There were 164 households out of which 22.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.9% were married couples living together, 4.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.2% were non-families. 35.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 22.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.09 and the average family size was 2.71.
