Lebo is located at 38°24′56″N 95°51′31″W / 38.41556, -95.85861 (38.415517, -95.858633).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.9 km²), of which, 1.0 square miles (2.6 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km²) of it (10.81%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 961 people, 371 households, and 271 families residing in the city. The population density was 969.2 people per square mile (374.8/km²). There were 387 housing units at an average density of 390.3/sq mi (150.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.88% White, 0.42% Native American, 1.56% from other races, and 1.14% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.81% of the population.
There were 371 households out of which 35.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.6% were married couples living together, 7.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.7% were non-families. 23.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
