City DescriptionCawker City is a city in Mitchell County, Kansas, United States. The population was 521 at the 2000 census.
Cawker City is located at 39°30′32″N, 98°26′2″W (39.508835, -98.433842).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 square miles (2.6 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 521 people, 261 households, and 151 families residing in the city. The population density was 525.9 people per square mile (203.2/km²). There were 335 housing units at an average density of 338.2/sq mi (130.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.50% White, 0.19% African American, 1.73% Native American, 0.38% from other races, and 0.19% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.77% of the population.
There were 261 households out of which 17.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.7% were married couples living together, 6.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.8% were non-families. 37.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 21.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.00 and the average family size was 2.61.
