City DescriptionCarlton is a city in Dickinson County, Kansas, United States. The population was 38 at the 2000 census.
Carlton is located at 38°41′12″N 97°17′38″W / 38.68667, -97.29389 (38.686786, -97.294015).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.4 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 38 people, 16 households, and 11 families residing in the city. The population density was 232.0 people per square mile (91.7/km²). There were 20 housing units at an average density of 122.1/sq mi (48.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 100.00% White.
There were 16 households out of which 31.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.5% were married couples living together, 6.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.3% were non-families. 31.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.91.
