I am a native Salinan & for what we've seen throughout the years in terms of places to eat, Martinelli's is one of the better ones. My personal fav is the chicken and avocado sandwich and the Mount Vesuvius molten chocolate cake.

This place is the best in Salina. Nobody is even a close second! The food is great! The waiters and waitresses are serious about their work, and damn good at it. We always tip well because you don't get better service anywhere. They have specials that encourage you to try something different. Real Mariachi's on special occasions. Great margaritas. The owners are very professional and personable. It's decorated nice.

Great place to eat a steak- better than the Steakhouses in Kansas City and I ought to know since I live there and frequent all. Steaks are tender and fixed just the way you order everytime. Love those baked Sweet Potatoes. If you love Steak you'll love Tucson's. Folks who know cattle and beef and know a great steak,flock there. Go early to beat the crowd. Casual dress. Service is attentive and I'll bet you meet the Manager- I've never been there when he failed to stop by my table to see if we were pleased. Everytime I'm in Salina, 4-5 times a year, I plan dinner at Tucsons. The 6 oz filet is a favorite which melts in the mouth.

We had family in from Texas over the Christmas holiday, made reservations for 8:00 Saturday night and when we arrived found out our table wasn't ready and wouldn't be ready for quite some time. As a matter of fact the people that were sitting at our table that we had reserved for 8:00 hadn't even gotten their pizza and didn' look too happy themselves. Needless to say, we weren't shown any courtesy or an apology. They took our number when we made the reservations, they could have called and let us know about the delay. We went elsewhere...

This place is very good. When I walk in I get more Spanish (i.e. Spain) rather than traditional Mexican. The prices are very low. I don't know if I am getting over-priced everywhere else or just stealing for this place. They have worked very hard to make this place their own. They have three very distinctive sauces. A spicy guacomole, a sweet salsa and a regular mild. All very good. Their meet isn't wierd like some other restauraunts I have been to. The service is good. Everyone should try this. The Critic

Just to see the neon was worth the visit. The grill they use to cook your burgers, is the same one they started with back in 1922. The menu is simple - burgers, chips, soda. You can not get cheese with your burgers, you can not get burgers without onion, if you want to custom order your burger - then go to Burger King, Cozy is truely one-of-a-kind. Bring a camera, you won't see another burger shack like this in Kansas.

The name outside does mention sushi but they do serve it. It???s mainly a hibachi house. The chef is quite entertaining. The sushi I order were extremely large pieces and tasted good and fresh. There is no sushi bar and the menu for sushi is limited. Conclusion: It???s the only place around Salina that service sushi and it prices right. Highly recommended.

I have never been more full in my life than that insane summer day in 1998 when we decided to take on the "Wondermeal". Ozzie (co-champion), our buddies Max-bra and J.C., and I were so full we could hardly walk back to campus. Great food, shakes, the works. It's gotten kind of stale there although the tv commercials advertise what looks like some great new additions to their menu. The margaritas are great. The service is usually very good although sometimes when the manager isn't around the young people like to cluster together at the desk in the entrance. I am going to try it out to taste the new menu. I do believe that the place needs to be dusted.

I think the verdict may still be out on this restauraunt. Having been a patron here several times, I can say that this place comes alive in the winter! It's has the atmosphere of a big city but the service integrity of a small town. The food is.... food. The frustration that I have with the Mar-Mars (editor's note: in reference to Martinis and Martinelli's who are both owned by brothers)is that their food consist mostly of what Sysco (mass food distrubuter) has to offer. That's not cooking, that's reheating. I can cook stoufers or thaw Sarah Lee at my home. I come to a eatery to experience, experience something that I can't have at my home and I just can't say that for Martini's. But nonetheless as I have said before the ambience and service is like no other. But don't take my word for it, experience it for your self. The Critic

Great pie!! This place has friendly wait staff, but the prices are a little steep. I guess the price of most things are going up. The philly-cheese and most of their breakfast platters are very good. If I'm in Salina around lunch, I usually stop there. I guess one thing that keeps me coming back is that Russell's is consistant. I've never had a bad lunch or breakfast. Try the pie, it is homemade.

I did like this place until my last visit. Upon walking into the restaurant with my tennis bag, the host (who I assume to be the owner, as he was the only person who didn't resemble white trash) asked me if I was totting a pool cue! Any idiot with a brain could tell it was a tennis bag. Upon saying the buffet was 8.99, the waitress then proceeded to ask if that would be okay. Almost as if it was up for negotiation or just a reassurance that I cold actually pay. For the hell I went through with the wait staff, I wold hardly deem the food worth it. It was your typical run-of-the-meal tex-mex. Bland and at times stale. Watery cheese sauce with a plethora or jalapenos. If you search hard enough you will find real Mexican here in Salina.

This place is interesting! It is the "mama" restauraunt to LaCasita (which I personally think is awful). With that said, this place isn't bad. When you walk in, it doesn't scream mexican. More like Irish Pub from the wood floors to the memoribilla. The food is okay. Their queso is good. Their frozen drinks taste like burned blender (kind of hard to describe, the waitress blamed it on the lime....) Overall not bad, but I think if you look hard enough you can find better mexican!
