Belleville is located at 39°49′25″N, 97°37′49″W (39.823548, -97.630183).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.0 square miles (5.1 km²), of which, 1.9 square miles (5.0 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (2.02%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 2,239 people, 1,045 households, and 606 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,153.0 people per square mile (445.6/km²). There were 1,259 housing units at an average density of 648.4/sq mi (250.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.35% White, 0.27% African American, 0.18% Native American, 0.31% Asian, 0.31% from other races, and 0.58% from two or more races. Belleville, Kansas...? Question: Driving this weekend, I was somewhere west of Belleville, Kansas and though it was really odd that in the middle of this field was a single cedar tree growing there. Since most farmers and ranchers consider these trees a nuisance I thought it was strange to see one in the middle of a corn field. Just wondered if it held any meaning for the family or the area.

It probaly is home to a lot of animals or someone who used to live on that land who was an ancestor planted it to be passed down

Any neat sights in the Belleville Kansas area? Question: I'm flying in to KC airport with my mom and driving to Belleville Kansas. . Does anyone have any tips on off beat places to visit such as strange little museums, ghost towns, odd shops and also bed and breakfasts in old, old homes? We leave on Oct 16. Thanks!

I have never visited Belleville and they have a half mile dirt track for midget racing. More information can be found at the website below.
