City DescriptionBaldwin City is a city in Douglas County, Kansas, United States about 12 miles south of Lawrence and 15 miles west of Gardner. It is part of the Lawrence, Kansas Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 3,400 at the 2000 census. The city is home to Baker University, the oldest four-year university in the state. It is the only town with its name in the United States.
Baldwin City originally began as a trail stop on the Santa Fe Trail named Palmyra. The small town consisted of a harness shop, blacksmith, hotel, lawyer, drug store, post office, two doctors and a tavern. In 1858, a group of Methodist ministers gathered at Kibbee Cabin and founded Baker University. The town of Palmyra bought land to the south for the university and surrounding city. My mom is seriously addicted to crack. This addiction is destroying our relationship.? Question: My mom is seriously addicted to crack. This addiction is destroying our relationship. My family and I are vacillating between wanting to help and fearing the consequences.
How can I help fix this personal issue? I am a resident of Baldwin City, Kansas.
Any sources you can give to help would be greatly appreciated.
Answer:
You need to look for a rehab for your mom. But the thing is if she don't want help than she will not stay in their. You should sit down with your mom and let her know how you and your family feels. Once you are addicted to crack you have to hit what is called rock bottom. The family WILL HAVE TO PUSH HER AWAY FOR HER TO GET HELP. I used to think that I was helping my friend my taking him to get his crack or by giving him money to get it so he would not get into trouble, what I was really doing was feeding his addiction. You your self have to find an Ali non group to go to they will help you to deal with your mom. It will be very hard to push your mom away but it is the best thing for you to do, when she realizes that the family will no longer support her then that will be the time for her to think about rehab. Good luck this drug is very addictive and very hard to get off.
