The food is great but the service leaves quite a bit to be desired. I have sat there for 15 minutes before being served or even acknowledged. The food is not enough to keep me coming back.

Everything is GREAT!!!! Best prime rib that I have ever eaten!!! Steaks are all awesome. Also the best and largest fried shrimp in Des Moines. House (creamy garlic) or blue cheese dressings are my favorites. Pink polar bear, strawberries and "something" alcohol is a great finish to a great meal.

Not a fancy place but friendly. Excellent food and Orlondo's house dressing is fantastic. Very reasonable prices for food and drink. Music at times and jam sessions. Very laid back and worth a visit.

Went there last night. The atmosphere is very upscale. I ordered Steak Oscar which was presented very nicely. It was cooked to perfection. The veggies were very tastey, though the baked potato left me wondering if it had been scrubbed well. Perhaps it was a fluke? I would try it again. One doesn't expect this type of dining experience in such a little town. My co-diners also enjoyed the experience.

Yum...haven't had a bad meal there yet. I love their ranch dressing; I suppose it's just typical restaurant service ranch, but it's good. I also love the Mexican Crisp. The owner is almost always there acting as the host and he's always very friendly. It is dim and smoky, but the place is very small, and the dimness adds to the atmosphere.

My buddy and I always head to the Norwood Inn for breakfast when I come visit. Food is very tasty, and their Bloody Mary's go great with their biscuits and gravy! Place is smoky but tolerable, service very good too

Probably the best restaurant in the Des Moines area. I say probably, because it is the best I have been to, and I have been to many, but not all. (OK, 801 Grand might be as good or slightly better, but the prices are WAY higher there). Reservations are recommended for weekends and holidays. Fantastic food, great service, excellent presentation. The prices are not exhorbitant, though not cheap. And you won't feel terribly out of place in jeans and a t-shirt. Menu items I recommend: 1) Prime Rib (best in Des Moines) 2) Boursin stuffed mushrooms 3) Ribeye Steak - Gunpowder Crust (truly amazing) 4) Creme Brulee

Joe and Frank cook up some great chow on Saturday's for all the big ball games. Meanwhile, the staff serves the ice cold beer, drinks and wine. Their are HDTV's everywhere so you can catch all the action of all the games.

This place has really cut back the amount of shreaded cheese, lettuce, pico, onions, peppers, etc they serve with the fahitas. They only serve about half of what you need to make 4 average fahitas. When I asked for more cheese, I was told I would be charge for anything extra. I would advise you to be very careful when ordering fahitas.
