The restaurant itself is worth the visit... meaning the decor and the overall "feel" of the place. It's really cool and it certainly feels like you're walking into a barn full of old stuff. The waiters/waitresses wear these goofy overalls and plaid shirts. Drinks are served in mason jars. I saw some kid meals served in little John Deere tractor things. It's lots of fun! I ordered the Pork Philly Cheese Steak sandwich as did my significant other one Sunday afternoon. It was very good! The food is very farm-like... lots of country favorites like fried chicken and fried everything else. Lots of fries (sweet potato and regular). The desserts looked fabulous, though we didn't succumb as we were stuffed from our meal. We both ordered soups with our sandwiches. The french onion is great and he ordered the chili. Good stuff. I was kind of irked that they don't serve their lunch menu on Sundays. There are lots of goodies on it for cheaper (like the pulled pork sandwich). I did kind of find items a little expensive on the dinner menu. A lot of the entrees were over $12 with our sandwiches being just over $9. For lunch, their sandwiches are about $7 and the entrees are cheaper as well. Anyway, it's a great visit. If you have family or friends in from out of town, definitely take them here! It's very "Iowan" and the food is pretty good if you're not on a diet! P.S. - I didn't have any problems with the service. Everyone was friendly and efficient.

I've been going to Tappa's for many years. By far the best steaks in the QC area. Jan and Cliff are great people. Tough little hole in the wall to find for out of towners but worth the effort.

The BEST eggrolls bar far. We have ate at alot of Chinese places but this one gets a gold star for eggrolls. Fried Rice is great...not too many peas & carrots! Mongollian Beef is delicious. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food one gets! A favorite & a recommendation!

Worst place to eat. I will save the big long detailed story I have been posting everywhere I can find & I'll just sum it up here! I was served a raw pork chop sandwich, the outside scored on the grill, but the inside raw as could be. Then my son & I witnessed not only one but two waitresses eating off plates the were about the serve. You know, picking at the fries and the salad with their fingers. The one waitress was actually still chewing the food as she served the plate to the customer. Then after this RAW experience, never even an apology from the owner or the waitress, and to top it off- We were charged. Paying for a completely unsatisfactory meal, raw meat, and a rude waitress. We are notifying the Health Department about this incident, and hopefully they will screw up again with someone from the Health Department sitting in the restaurant to witness it all.

I went with a friend of mine. We love Sushi and this was a new place for us. Upon looking at the menu we were disappointed at the small selection of sushi and the cost of the other dinners. I ordered the Chicken Katsu, which came with soup and salad. We also order crab and cucumber sushi and another vegetable sushi. The soup was clear soup and was really good. One of the best actually. I'm not sure what kind of dressing was on the salad but it didn't taste good and it made the salad too watery. The sushi that we ordered was priced comparable to other places we had been but that experience was a disappointment too. I couldn't see nor taste the vegetables inside the rolls. Other places I had been you could see big pieces of veggies. The vegetable roll was suppose to have carrots and cucumber inside it but I couldn't see it. When our main course arrived we were suprised at the size which was large. The chicken katzu was really good but while the wait staff did come and check on us and refill our drinks the staff wasn't as friendly as other places we have been. I don't think I will go back. I love sushi and think the sushi that is made at Super Target and other restaurants in the area is much better.

The service is spotty at this national chain's location. Thank God, this isn't the only Village Inn in Davenport, or the Quad Cities. Easily pick another Village Inn location for consistant service and food quality. Sometimes the managers here at the Harrison Street location are just plain rude, though they have been weeding out the bad managers. Forget evenings or later because they allow teens to smoke clove cigarettes. This location is very busy Sunday mornings through 1 or 2pm. Most afternoons the place is lightly populated by a few dedicated senior citizens Palmer College, St. Ambrose or Central High students. Standard Pancake house chain menu. If you must eat in central Davenport, It is your best bet, though if you must eat at Village Inn, easily pick another. Also, not open 24 hours.

As a beer lover and homebrewer, I couldn't pass up the chance to try Blue Cat. I was in Rock Island on business, and didn't think I'd get the chance to visit, as I was hesitant to go on my own. I definitely am not the drink alone type. Upon mentioning it Blue Cat to my client, he suggested lunch there. Service and food were great, and the beer--fantastic. I tried the Belgian Blonde. This beer had moderate hop bitterness, but an amazingly fresh hop aroma and flavor that definitely can't be found in any commercial brews, or even great homebrews that I've made or tried. My only regret was that I couldn't stick around to try the other beers, and talk to the brewmaster for the Belgian Blonde recipe. I'll definitely be back to Blue Cat!

I LOVE MARIA'S. I eat there at least once a week and sometimes twice. I usually go with co-workers and they love it also. Everything is delicious, especially the hot sauce. It's the best and what I compare any other restaurants to. The tacos are the best anywhere. But like I said, everything is really good. I highly recommend the place to anyone.

Visiting out of town, saw this place as I was exploring. I echo the previous comments...excellent restaurant, excellent staff, excellent food, you name it. Price was right too! Started with the free Bruschetta and baguette, then on to the Insalata Caprese (3 huge slices of tomatoe with the appropriate toppings :) ) and finally the Brandy Chicken. Not a big alcohol drinker, and this didn't have that taste to it...flavorful, but not strong. Don't believe the first and second plate menu as you might when in Italy...I'm a big eater, and the single menu item of two chicken breasts topped with Prosciutto (which also came with plenty of awesome brocolli and potatoes) filled me up. No dessert for me! No skimping on portions here. Overall 5 stars, no way they could improve!

This is the best Mexican restaurant in the Quad City area. The fajitas are great, the salsa is homemade, and the prices are reasonable. I haven't found anything on the menu yet that doesn't taste awesome.
