City DescriptionBettendorf is a city in Scott County, Iowa, United States. The population was 32,445 at the 2008 census estimate. Bettendorf is part of the Quad Cities, along with neighboring Davenport and the Illinois cities of Moline, East Moline and Rock Island.
Bettendorf lies in the original Wisconsin Territory, which was bought from the Sac and Fox Indians in the Black Hawk Purchase of 1832. The first white settlers established a village named Lillienthal, commemorating an early tavern and dance hall. The village of Gilbert developed alongside Lillienthal in 1858, honoring Elias Gilbert, who plotted the original site. At that time, the residents were predominantly German and were employed as farmers, skilled laborers, and small business owners. The two villages eventually combined to become the town of Gilbert.
Around 1900, William and Joseph Bettendorf were gifted 70 acres of riverfront land on condition that they move their iron wagon business from Davenport to Gilbert. In 1903, the town of 440 citizens petitioned for incorporation, requesting to change the town's name to honor the brothers whose factory was a major influence in the early development of the city.

Moving to Orlando, FL? Question: I am 20 years old and I am a golfer currently living in Bettendorf, Iowa and I want to start a career in golf and just can't do it here in the winter. I want to move near the Orlando, Lake Mary are and was wondering if there is any nice apartments around $500 rent and where at around that area is cheaper and nicer. I would accept any kind of advice or tips. Thanks!!!!!!
Answer:
If you're looking to move near Orlando or Lake Mary...good luck trying to find somewhere for $500...and if you do, let me know where! I'm paying almost $700 for a SMALL (600s/f loft/1 bathroom) in Altamonte Springs (just north of Orlando, just south of Lake Mary). I'm currently looking to rent somewhere else and all I'm finding is 1 bedroom/1 bath for closer to $800 with no utilities included. Do you have a friend that's looking to get outta Iowa or do you know anyone in Orlando that you could maybe split the rent with? Unfortunately, the only places that are going to have rent that low, aren't going to be in the nicer areas.. Good luck!

Yeah, apparently he said that today. I am a Republican, but does he really need all five sons to help him get elected? Heck, I think just having one or two sons in the military, serving our nation, would do a whole lot more to help him get elected.
