What explains the random assortment of mascots in the Nissan Heisman commercial? Question: The commercial has mascots of teams with legitimate Heisman candidates such as a gigantic Buckeye (Ohio St.) and a Mountaineer (West Virginia), but I've also seen a Cyclone (Iowa St.), a Sun Devil (Arizona St.), a swarm of Yellow Jackets (Georgia Tech), a Trojan (USC), an Elephant (presumably Alabama), and a Tiger (LSU? Auburn? Clemson?), teams which certainly don't feature a Heisman candidate. My question is, why were these random mascots included, and why was the mascot of preseason Heisman favorite, Brady Quinn, not included?
Answer:
It mostly has to do with the fact that most of those teams are powerhouses. Plus the fact that just having 5 mascots wouldn't be as cool has having all of the different mascots chasing and tackling each other.

how much does it cost to go to an out of state college? Question: i live in Iowa and want to know the cost of an out of state college. ( I want to go to Auburn) Help please!
Answer:
If you choose an out-of-state private college, there won't be a difference between tuition for a resident and that for a non-resident. If you choose a state-supported out-of-state college (Auburn is state-supported), they may charge more to non-residents. Just how much more is something that can vary and you need to ask them and compare it with what it would cost you to go to an Iowa state-supported university.
Some states have reciprocal agreements with other states whereby non-residents get a tuition break. (I doubt that Auburn has such an agreement with Iowa, but it never hurts to ask). You need to check with the registrar of the college you want to attend about what the tuition will cost there so you can do your comparison.

How would you rank the top 10 (or 15) in college football? Question: Here is my ranking for this week:
1) Ohio State
2) Auburn
3) LSU
4) Michigan
5) Texas
6) Oregon
7) California
8) Clemson
9) Florida
10) West Virginia
11) Louisville
12) USC
13) Tennessee
14) Oklahoma
15) tie Boston College/Boise State
16) Notre Dame
17) Georgia Tech
18) tie Missouri/Iowa
Overrated and off of my list are Georgia, and Florida State (not even deserving of a top 25).
Answer:
1-Ohio State
2-Michigan
3-Auburn
4-Florida
5-Oregon
6-West Virgina
7-Louisville
8-Clemson
9-Georgia Tech
10-USC
---------------------
11-California
12-LSU
13-Bo ise State
14-Texas
15-Missouri
16-Notre Dame
USC and Gergia have done nothing but struggle and arent performing liek i think a super team should. If the Gators beat ranked auburn, georgia, lsu, they should be #2...Boise State is my second fav team they r great against the WAC but i think they would struggle against any of the big BCS teams

How can SEC fans legitimately hate on the Big-10 given the facts...? Question: All day long (and really, during all of the last 2 years...thanks a bunch OSU...) I've been reading ridiculous stuff from SEC fans who you can tell have never read the facts (or maybe even 'read' ever), or who have just started watching college football as of two years ago. You've beaten OSU twice...congrats! But using that as an excuse to say that the entire SEC is better than (and many are making the laughable assertion that it's always been this way) the entire Big-10 is about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Here are the facts about the Big-10 vs the SEC in Bowl Games, with links from espn.com and one from Wikipedia to prove it (not like "facts" and "reality" really matter for people like LSUBalls, gvoze, and Jerith N, but here' goes anyway):
-Ohio State is 0-9 vs the SEC. As this is all I hear about, I doubt that this needs a link to prove it (whooppeee! pat yourselves on the back dixie-rebs! yeehaw!!!)
HOWEVER....
-Michigan is 7-3 vs the SEC, including 2 recent wins against Florida and one each against arkansas, alabama, and auburn.
-Penn State is 7-4 vs the SEC, with 3 recent wins against tennessee and one gigantic stomping of auburn.
-Iowa is 3-2 vs the SEC, with two very recent wins against LSU (in 2004) and Florida (in 2003).
-Minnesota (that's right, freakin' Minnesota...and they're garbage!) is even 2-1 vs the SEC...
...so, in conclusion, can anyone really argue with a straight face that the SEC is better than the Big-10? I mean, last year Michigan stomped Florida IN FLORIDA, and teams like LSU were losing to teams like Iowa not even 4 years ago. Lots of SEC fans like to ignorantly say stuff like, "oh yeah, well those stats included games from the 1920's!", when infact almost all of the Big-10's wins against the SEC have come after 1990, and almost all of the SEC wins were from the times of leather helmets (go ahead, check the links out...). Feel free to say that you 'own' Ohio State, because clearly you do, but if you look up SEC stats vs all of the other Big-10 teams (the other good ones that is...I don't want to hear about Northwestern or Vanderbilt on either side), you guys get perenially owned by the Big Ten.
End of college football lesson...

...oh, and ps = when I said "recent wins" above, i mean since 1990. Like I said, most of the SEC's wins vs the Big-10 (after you take OSU out of the equation) came from before WWII
Ok, some good answers here, mostly because, I suppose, the facts & figures scared off pretty much all of the crazed SEC fans from actually attempting to come up with a locigal answer. Proof of this can be seen in "dfjdkn"'s answer, where, at some point, the logic train de-railed big time. What does the Pac-10 have to do with anything we've been talking about? And did you not get the gist of the question where I said "if you take Ohio State out of the equation"...this Q was about the other team's records, so go ahead and subtract 9 from your SEC figures (again, for the purpose of this question). "Calill C", when did I ever say I don't respect Ohio State? Never...cause I do. And for a very typical 'SEC fan' response to facts & stats, see "Ole Tiger"'s answer ("choke on it"). As that's all he had...I imagine he read those links and has been choking on it himself ever since...
Answer:
you are becoming one of my favorites on Yahoo Answers, you are dead on, and I completely agree with you.
Ohio State does not fair well against the SEC in bowl games...they do own a lifetime in season record of 7-2-2 against the SEC...and the 0-9 bowl game mark ...that equals out to 7-11-2
see, SEC have small, what have you done for me now type of attitude...I bet they have only seen 2 games in which a SEC did play a Big 10 team and that would be the last 2 national championship games...mind you, the SEC did win in convincing fashion, but the rest of the Big 10 fairs very well against the SEC and your stats and game scores prove it
didn't Michigan (who lost to App State, and was blown out by Oregon, and at the end of the season were taken care of pretty easily by Ohio State) beat Florida.....in Florida?

oregon st v missouri
texas tech vs minnesota

boise state v oklahoma
big 12 has 8 teams playing in bowl gams. which teams are gonna win?
Answer:
oklahoma state
rutgers
california
missouri
texas tech
texas
nebraska
oklahoma

Of these 8 contenders which do u believe has the best chance of getting to the college football National Champ Question: USC key games: @nebraska, @notre dame (don't sleep on this one), @oregon, oregon st, @CAL, @Arizona st, UCLA
LSU Key games: VT, FL, @kentucky (don't sleep on thisone either), Auburn, @BAMA(not gonna be easy), Arkansas
Michigan Key games: Oregon, Penn St, @Mich St, @Wisky, Ohio St
Wisconsin Key games: Iowa, @penn st, @ohio st, michigan (gosh the big 10 blows)
Texas key games: TCU, KS state, oklahoma, nebraska, @okie st, TT, @Tx A&M
Oklahoma Key games: Miami (FL), @texas, Mizzou, Tx A&M, @TT, Okie St
West Va Key games: @Maryland, @south FL, @Rutgers, Louisville
Louisville: @Kentucky (rivalry game watch out), @west va, at South FL, Rutgers
These are the teams i believe have the best chance at getting to the NC. After everything plays out, i have 13-0 LSU playing 11-1 USC for the national title and LSU winning 28-23.
USC has a rough road at the end literally playing 4 of 5 games away late in the season, top that off with a showdown with UCLA on the last game of the reg season and u would have to think they would lose at least 1 of those
Answer:
South Carolina will not be a pushover for LSU either. I think if LSU can make it by VT in that second game, when the offense finds its rythm, the Tigers will be unstoppable. LSU runs the table and beats USC in the superdome.

How bout a Big 10 - SEC Challenge:? Question: Just like the Big 10 and the ACC do in basketball
how great would it be to see the #1 Big 10 team play the #1 SEC team in the first game of the next season and so on down the line
OBVIOUSLY not plausable
and it will never happen but it's fun to imagine right
-note- I realize most people are going to be ignorant/biased about this
so ask yourself this before you answer like
"OH the ______ conference would 100% destroy the ____"
have you answered a question today with something other than your favorite team or conference being the best?
(LSUsomething for an example)
and then try and be as objective as you can.
Ohio State v. Florida
Wisconsin v. Arkansas
Michigan v. LSU
Penn State v. Auburn
Purdue v. Tennessee
Minnesotta v. Georgia
Indiana v. Kentucky
Iowa v. South Carolina
Northwestern v. Alabama
Michigan State v. Ol' Miss
Illinois v. Vandy
-hope i got those matchups right-
but i see it being dam even 6-5 either way
Roger,
who wants to watch Indiana or Kentucky play anybody....
why not let them play eachother
and why focus my efforts on something that gets beat to death without anything ever being accomplished....
instead....i chose to bring something new/somewhat entertaining to the table
Well I knew LSUballs would chime in and be an idiot....
but i didn't expect anything as stupid as "Ol' Miss could win the big 10"
and to the guy who actually went at each matchup.....didn't Arkansas have McFadden last time they played Wisconsin?
LSUballs.....
I'm not proposing the matchup....I'm saying it would be interesting
and when did i say that florida wouldn't slaughter Ohio State....
I hate Ohio State and i think it's pretty obvious that this years Florida team would woop on them like last year
I also would give Auburn the win over my favorite team Penn State
Where do you even get any evidence that I'm bias?
every single answer I've seen from you either declares LSU the number one team next year, JRussel the best college prospect in years, or the SEC wooping a "soft" big 10
in one of your earlier posts you sited the big 10 getting hammered when going against other power conferences
but didn't mention Penn State beaging Tennessee last year or Wisconsin over Arkansas
I'm clearly not the bias one of the two of us
-----------------------------------------
Oh and have a good weekend
Answer:
ok well Im a UGA fan so SEC is my fave conf. but I will be as unbiased as possible.
Florida over OSU we seen it in the nat'l champ.
Ark over Wisc. D-mac is crazy
LSU over the blue despite losing Russell Landry and Bowe, the D is still powerful and fast
Penn State over Aub, Joe Paterno is just something u have to account for
Tennessee over purdue, Tennessee was on more of a development year last year but this year they should be a mature group, despite losing Robert Meachem
Indiana over Kentucky, Kentucky has alotta D problems and Indiana has an alright O
S. Car. over Iowa, I think Steve Spurrier will shape the gamecocks into more of a contending team this year
Alabame over NW because Alabama has a good running game, and NW's Lb's aren't athletic enough to account for it
MSU over Ole Miss, MSU is a good team overall even after losing their QB, they have a solid D that slowed down alot of good offenses last year
Vandy over Illinois, Vandy showed flashes of potential last year and dind't lose any big players and Illionois wasn't much of a competitor last year.
my count.
My biggest reason for taking the SEC over the Big 10 any way is because OSU completely dominated their division and then lost miserably to Florida. Florida had many close games and did lose in their Conf. so just on this assumption alone shows that SEC is alil tougher.
My score 8-3 SEC

BCS Bound? Question: What team do u see representing the "BCS bids" and the "at-large bids?" There are now 4 BCS bowls and the National Championship!
I think it'll be Texas, LSU, Notre Dame, Louisville, Ohio State, Miami, Auburn, TCU, Cal, Iowa! Texas and LSU representing the National Championship Game. Call me crazy if u want.
Answer:
ACC- Virginia Tech, don't ask, I just didn't feel like picking Miami or FSU.
Big East- West Virginia, best team by far with one of the easiest schedules in the country.
Big Ten- Iowa, won't make it through conference play 8-0, but they do get tOSU at home.
Big XII- Texas Tech, call me crazy, but Texas won't be the same without VY, Oklahoma doesn't have a QB either, and I'm not about to pick Nebraska or anyone else out of the North.
SEC- Auburn, sure they got pasted by Wisconsin in the CapitolOne Bowl, but they've got 8 games at home plus plenty of talent.
Pac-10- USC, the Trojans simply reload, but UCLA and Cal could be tough.
At-large- Notre Dame, Heisman candidate at the helm, tough schedule, but lots of talent and good coaching.
At-large- Ohio St., great team whose only losses should be close games in Austin and Iowa City.
As for the National Championship, I think WVU's gotta be there by virtue of being 12-0 due to their creampuff schedule. Their opponent, ummm, I'll give it to Notre Dame. Brutal schedule, but they've got the weapons to go 12-0 or 11-1 as long as they get all the breaks. If those two meet up in Glendale, I've gotta believe that the Irish, after having been battle-tested against the likes of Georgia Tech, Penn St., Michigan, Michigan St., UCLA, and USC will be better prepared for the big game than a Mountaineer team coming off such stiff opposition as Marshall, I-AA E. Washington, Maryland, East Carolina, and Mississippi St. (not to mention a flacid Big East schedule). Then again, WVU certainly surprised people in the Sugar Bowl last year, I just don't see it happening again.

How 'bout the Big-12 North? Question: After a couple of down years, the Big-12 North is playing some great football. Mizzou is the most underrated team in the country! They destroyed Nebraska much worse than USC did. They beat Illinois who beat #5 Wisconsin. They beat Ole' Miss on their home field much worse than Florida did. Kansas is undefeated, and just beat a tough K-State team that really should have beaten Auburn badly on their home field opening day. Colorado upset Oklahoma. Really, only Nebraska and perrineal doormat Iowa State aren't very good (and Iowa State beat traditional Big-10 powerhouse Iowa!)
Answer:
The Big-12 north is very underrated. I wish some of those so-called great SEC teams would come up and play Mizzou. They would get creamed! Chase Daniel is the best QB in the country.

32 Pit - S. Moss (WR-Miami)
I would really appreciate your thoughts on it. I really enjoy the draft.
Answer:
Looks pretty good. Only thing i disagree with is Carolina, I think they are probably going to take J. Adai from LSU. Thus, leaving my beloved Steelers to take L. White from USC. I could be bias on this tho, simply because I love White and think hed fit right in with the Steelers offense. If Carolina doesnt take, Adai, then i beileve the Steelers will. Good call with Moss tho, Steelers need that as well.

Who will the browns pick? nfl draft 2007? Question: my order:
1st- Joe Thomas(OT-wisconsin)
2nd- Troy Smith (QB- OSU)
3rd- Aaron Ross (CB- Texas)
4th- Mike Jones (OG- Iowa)
5th- Kenny Irons ( RB- Auburn)
maybe pick up more o-line, d-line aqquisitions in FA. Frye-?????- savage thinks is starting material, only time will tell.
(those are my rounds not top 5 draft picks)
the browns lost to tampa bay last week so the browns will get the 3rd pick.
Answer:
The Browns can try and draft Ohio native quaterback Troy Smith (Which would be a good/ironic thing for Braylon Edwards). But, consider how good the D played against the Ravens running game and considering Ted Washingtons age...drafting Allan Branch (6'6" 330Lbs. Michigan) well help boost their D-Line. Drafting a center or linemen is important but that can be done late in the draft also.
LaMaar Woodley is an awesome fit to the D and if you put him along with Kamerion Wibley thats one heck of a linebacking crew.
