Do you know which breeds are affected by BSL?
    Question:
There are a few different lists out there, but this is the list that shows up the most and this is the shortest list I have seen so far. This list tells you where each breed is currently banned from, but thats just currently and these are just the current breeds. The list grows very fast! Dogs currently affected by BSL in the United States This list is specifically named in ordinances American Pit Bull Terrier American Staffordshire Terrier Staffordshire Bull Terrier Bull Terrier (Monticello, Centerville, Alburnett & Hiawatha Iowa) (Grandview MO) (N Little Rock, AR) (KY & WA) Akita (Ulyssas, KS) Alaskan Malamutes (Fairfield, IA) American Bull Dog (North Little Rock, AR) (Aurora CO.)(Akron OH) Belgian Malanois (Fairfield, IA) Boerboels (Fairfield, IA) Cane Corso (Aurora CO) Chow Chow (Travelers Rest, SC), (Newport, RI) (Lynnville, TN) Doberman Pincher (Fairfield, IA) (Sisston, SD), (Westfield, IL), (Travelers Rest, SC) (Lynnville, TN) (Buffalo Center, IA) Dogo Argentino (Aurora CO) English Mastiffs, (Yale, IA) Fila Brasileiro (also known as the Fila, Brazilian Mastiff) (Aurora CO) German Shepard (Fairfield, IA) (Lynnville, TN) Great Danes (Fairfield, IA) Irish Wolf Hounds (Fairfield, IA) Mastiffs (Fairfield, IA) Malamutes (Fairfield, IA) Presa Mallorquin (also known as the Ca De Bou) (Aurora, CO) Presa Canario (Lanett, AL) (Aurora CO) Rottweiler (North Little Rock AR) (Buffalo Grove, ILL) (Fairfield, Conrad, Lake Mills & Lockridge IA) (Walkerton, IN) (Inman, KS) (Carl Junction & Salisbury MO) (Binghamton, NY) (Velva, ND)(Pawtuckett, RI) (Travelers Rest, SC)(Lynnville, TN)(Smithville, UT)(Neah Bay, WA) (Buffalo Center, IA) Scottish Deerhounds (Fairfield, IA) Shar Pei's (Smithfield, UT) Siberian Huskies (Fairfield, IA) Tosa Inu (Aurora CO) NOTE These are breeds that are typically over 100 lbs according to UKC & AKC Standards. If your dog is over 100lbs in Fairfield, Iowa it is considered a restricted breed. 1. Akbash 2. Anatolian Shepherd 3. Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog 4. Borzoi 5. Bull Masiff 6. Dogue De Bordeauxs 7. Estrela Mountain Dog 8. Great Pyrenees 9. Italian Mastiff 10. Komondor 11. Kangal Dog 12. Kuvaz 13. Leonberger 14. Neopolitian Mastiff 15. New Foundland 16. Otterhound 17. St. Bernard 18. Spanish Mastiff More and more cities are consider adopting a ban everyday! Pretty soon there will be no more dogs left to ban! : ( I know this isnt a question, but I thought everyone should know what breeds are affected by BSL. Any comments would be great! Thanks! : ) This is interesting and scary!... http://bslinfo.tripod.com/id2.html **Moosey.. I agree, it is really sad. Every breed on that list is a wonderful breed. Some breeds are not right for some people, but that doesnt make them bad or dangerous! In the right hands, any breed of dog can be wonderful! In the wrong hands, any breed of dog can be mean and dangerous! Instead of banning breeds we need to do something that would work! Do something that will fix the problem, not just cause a false sense of security! We need to enforce the laws that we have, we need to encourage responsible dog ownership and not let irresponsible, abusive, neglectful people own any pet!... Thanks for your comment! : ) **Carrie S.. I agree with your comment. I think that there should be a limit on how many dogs can be in one home. I also think that if people want to own certain breeds, like the so-called "dangerous" breeds, they should have to go through some kind of testing to make sure they are able and willing to handle the breed. I am not saying that because I dont like certain breeds.. lol.. I LOVE them all! I own two American Pit Bull Terriers and I wish that they would make people go through some kind of testing in order to own certain breeds. **Blueidkele13.. I agree! Thats why I said that this isnt the only list and the list changes every day. I live just north of Miami and they have had a "pit bull" bann for ever! It is soo stupid! : ( Ohh and I just noticed that you also said Broward County. I lived in Plantation Fl for a while! I love it there! We cant go back though because we have 2 APBTs now! : ( Its sooo sad!

    Answer:
If the ignorant people of the world get their way BSL will effect almost every meduim to large breed dog. Even though I saw a lot of info on BSL on the list, laws are changing so fast the only way is for you to call the city/county you are interested in. For instance, I did not see Dade, Broward and miami listed for pit bul and pit bul type dogs and yet they will come and take your dog if you have a pit. I used to do rescue in those parts and kept one of my rescues from there. She is a beautiful little red nose that is sweet as pie. We all need to band together to counter act these laws.... Laws don't protect animal owners from other people abusing our animals, the laws don't help, police don't help. NO ONE will unless we make a stand and change the laws, inform people and they will be less likely to pass these general "ban everything that looks bad" laws. I know from 1st had experience, I lost 2 dogs and now owe over a million $ to someone and thier family who abused my dogs and then got bit. You also can not believe anything the news tells you about cases, they distort the truth to instill fear in people and make you watch the story. I have lived through it, watched the lies and I'm still dealing with the issue... 1 thing will never change for me, I will not let my babies die for nothing. I will not let ignorance and fear dictate where my dogs and I live or what kind of dogs I can have. We can't sit back and do nothing, the other side is winning so far. What are you going to do about it?

is the pac-10 better than the big-10 (top to bottom)?
    Question:
Wisconsin almost lost to a crappy UNLV team...UM no good...OSU should have lost to Akron and WILL lose to Washington next week...Penn St is overrated..Iowa is garbage...MSU is always mediocre Why do people still think the big-10 is better than Pac-10? UCLA is very good.....USC is #1...Cal trounced TennU and made them look like garbage Washington beat top 20 (longest win streak) Boise St...Oregon is better than any Big-10 team and they are projected to finish 5th in the pac-10

    Answer:
Absolutely !!! they are. After watching what was supposed to be the best team at this point in the BIG 10 (Wisconsin) barely beating a team that has only won what 7 games in the last 3 seasons !!!! hahahahahaha and Oregon trounce on what was left of a once proud team as Michigan whom every body touted as one of the teams that would possibly be in the National Champion ship game. hahahahahaha !!! Yes and as a USC fan, they are going to have a tough schedule ahead. wait a minute I heard a couple of weeks back from all the sports critics that they have one of the hardest schedules in college football... and has now become harder. If USC wins outright they will be the undisputed undeniable heavy weight champs in college football PERIOD !!!!!!! NO ARGUMENT !! Even if they lose just one game they still will probably make the National Championship game. That is just how tough of a schedule USC faces !!! Just plain unmistakable fact !! PERIOD.!!!!! So yes the PAC-10 is much better all around than the BIG 10. Plain & Simple !!!

    Question:
Tell me ONE proven team that your team played this year. Northern Illinois (7-5) Lost to numerous UNRANKED teams. Texas (9-3) Lost to UNRANKED Kansas St. and Texas A&M. My next question is how can you be so sure they'll beat Florida with that schedule? Can someone give me valid points, I mean points that would stand up? Two No.2 teams that lost to UNRANKED teams doesn't stand a chance. Please someone answer the question. Excuse me one of those two No. 2 teams is Michigan and they didn't lose to a unranked team, they don't have a schedule that would stand up to even Vanderbilts. Answer:
I don't believe that the Bucks have played any proven #2 teams. When Texas was ranked there, it was at the beginning of the season and Mich had the same schedule. Therefore, all those confident Bucks fans might leave Glendale a little disappointed, the Gators may not crush everyone, but they get what matters, the W.

    Answer:
It's too early in the season to know how ANY of these teams is going to do, so I'll just pick ALL HOME TEAMS (by at least 1) this week. EDIT to Beachbabe: WHICH OSU?? There are THREE of them on this list!! (Oregon State, Ohio State, Oklahoma State) and I dare say, at least one of them is going to lose. (Oklahoma State to Washington State). (WHOOPS! Congrats to Okla. St. for proving me wrong on that one!)

Why do so many think LSU and OU will be better than OSU, if all win out? - look at remaining schedules?
    Question:
Remaining schedules (based on USA Today) Ohio State #39 Michigan State at #25 Penn State #27 Wisconsin #29 Illinois at #26 Michigan LSU #19 Auburn at #35 Alabama Louisiana Tech (2-4)= Akron at Mississippi (2-5) (0-4 SEC) Arkansas (3-3) (0-3 SEC) Oklahoma at iowa state (1-6) (0-3 Big 12) Texas A&M (5-2) (2-1 Big 12) Baylor (3-4) (0-3 Big 12) at #22 Texas Tech Oklahoma State (4-3) (2-1 Big 12) it is clear to me who would has the best remaining schedule and who the better team is if all win out. Just a Big Ten fan, Ohio State fan tired of our conference and "soft" schedule getting put down, when remaining schedule proves that the "better" teams have a lot softer remaining schedule, which would equal everything out in the end - except LSU and OU have a loss to go with that schedule. i'm noticing some SEC fans have some mouths...i'm not putting down the first part of their schedule, i'm putting down their last part...I would have to say that Ohio State's remaning schedule is equal to LSU's first half of the schedule I wonder how many of you SEC fans have seen Ohio State play this year, or will watch any of their remaining games...if you haven't then you really can't talk...if you don't like SEC remaining schedule, don't get mad at me and tell me about their first half, i'm not talking about that you really can't reason with SEC fans, talk about ignorance, I forgot that you were God's second son

    Answer:
Seems that on this board you are not going to win any arguments with OSU being #1. Even if they win out, you will have people crying foul! Every Big 12 Fan and SEC one has this image of a soft Big 10 and OSU having a cupcake schedule even though every ranked team has 3-5 of them. As said before the Bucks schedule far in advance on this 2007 season, Michigan, Penn State and Wisconsin were preseason favorites and Washington was supposedly on the rebound. Purdue and Illinois made a Top 25 appearance briefly. In the past they have scheduled a 2005 # 1 National Champion Texas and # 13 in 2006, a # 10 2002 Washington State, and will play a #13 USC in the future. A team cannot be guilty of how another team plays out there schedule if they win or lose. You play who you play! OSU has been ranked in the Top 25 in the AP every year except 3 since 1937 and and 28 times in the Top 10 and this years ranking is a fluke? The Bucks are also # 5 in the number of National Championships OSU has a winning record against every conference except the SEC which is 7-10, hardly dominating... Ohio State has 44 players in the NFL, second to Miami with 46 and consistantly have very strong recruiting classes. Hardly a lack of talent historically. The Big 10 also has a winning record against every single 1A conference. Big 12 312 - 209, SEC 94 - 87, PAC 10 266 - 251, Big East 327 - 150 and ACC 174 - 99 GO BUCKS!

Does Anyone Else Think Obama May Upset Hillary In Ohio?
    Question:
I'm from Pittsburgh which is only a half hour from the Ohio border, so I have a pretty good sense of Ohio culture. And let me tell you something...when you combine the african american population of Cleveland and Cincinatti which will vote about 90% for Obama, with the MASSIVE population of college students in Ohio from Division-1 Schools (Ohio State, Ohio University, Miami of Ohio, Ball State, University of Akron, University of Toledo, University of Cincinatti, Case Western, etc etc)....and you add to those two factors, the fact that much of Ohio is a rural farming demographic similar to states like Iowa and Nebraska which Obama already won, and I have to say, I think the combination of college kids and blacks will pretty much equalize the pro-Clinton blue collar union vote, and then it'll be a nailbiter amongst the rural Ohio farmers. And Obama will TAKE a nailbiter...after tonight, Hillary needs to make up ground in ELECTED delegates, or risk a superdelegate exodus.

    Answer:
I HOPE not! I really want Hilary to win.

What do you think of this?
    Question:
Obama leaving campaign trail to visit grandmother WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is canceling nearly all his campaign events Thursday and Friday to fly to Hawaii to visit his suddenly gravely ill 85-year-old grandmother, a spokesman said. Robert Gibbs told reporters aboard Obama's plane that Madelyn Payne Dunham, who helped raise Obama, was released from the hospital late last week. But he said her health had deteriorated "to the point where her situation is very serious." Events originally planned for Madison, Wis., and Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday will be replaced with one in Indianapolis before he makes the long flight to Hawaii. On Friday, Obama's wife, Michelle, will sub for Obama at rallies in Akron and Columbus, in Ohio, said campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki. Obama was expected to resume campaigning on Saturday, at an undecided location in the West, she said. "Sen. Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has always been one of the most important people in his life, along with his mother and his grandfather," Gibbs said.
