City DescriptionAgency is a city in Wapello County, Iowa, United States. The population was 622 at the 2000 census. It is the historic site of an Indian trading post and the grave of Chief Wapello.
Agency is the resting place for Chief Wapello. Chief Wapello was second in command in the Sac and Fox Nation just under Chief Keokuk. Chief Wapello is buried next to his good friend General Joseph M. Street, and his family.
Agency is located at 40°59′44″N, 92°18′27″W (40.995432, -92.307532).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.5 km²), all of it land.

you will probably have to contact your local welfae office now they call it transitional assitance in most states now. if you have a domestic violence issue you can get a restaing order or order of protection and they will have to leave the house. also if you tell him to leave and he wont, you can call the cops and tell them you want him gone.

How can I find out which collection agency holds my account and their address???

I'm trying to figure out what collection agency holds my account. Is there any way to do that? They called me on the phone once, and I got to see first hand how they will treat ppl to get money as fast as possible. I was advised by a consolidater not to talk to them on the phone at all. The consolidater couldn't really do much to lower my payments to the collection agency, so he told me to just mail them what I could in payments until I could get the entire amount to them. Only problem is I never got the name or address of the collection agency and I don't even have the number to them anymore. I want to mail them (so I have paper copies of everything) and ask them to send me something that shows how much I owe and where it all comes from (intrest, etc...) and also to mail payments. Can anyone tell me how to find out which IOWA collection agency would have my old credit card account? Thanks!

You can order a credit report and your creditors contact information will be on there.
Once you contact them I suggest trying to settle for a lower amount. Keeping good records is very important, however, do NOT mail the company personal checks, try using money orders (that way they do not have your checking account information). Or giving them any of your work information- They can uses these pieces of information to garnish wages, of levy bank accounts if you end up not paying them in full.

Is it feasible to work one full-time plus a part-time job for a temp agency with two different clients?

I'm working full-time with one client from the same agency and another client of there's has a part-time evening position available for seventeen hours a week. I was told the temp agency would have to pay me time-and-a-half because of their payroll.
I didn't think this was right because it is two separate clients that are billed separately.
By the way, one company is in Illinois and the other in Iowa. And the temp agency is in Illinois.
I was told I couldn't work for the second client.

Technically, yes, but if both clients outsource work to the temp agency (and the temp agency is the one paying you), then if you were to work both jobs, they would have to pay you time and a half. Which is probably why they denied you the second job, most places do not like paying time and a half (unless they absolutely need you to work that much). Even though the clients are separate (and billed separately), your paycheck would still come from the same place (the temp agency), which is why they would have to pay you overtime. Even if the clients are in different states.

Are you in the Iowa flooding being adequately assisted by the authority agencies?

I am in Cedar Rapids, IA.... we have had the brunt of the high water pass now. We are in recovery.
Personally, at home, I was not hit by this trauma. That is to say, I have not had water in my house or on my street. BUT, I have had it impact my friends, family and business / work. This is a life altering event.
The word I am hearing from almost everyone is that the FEDS and local authorities are working well together and the people affected most are getting help. I am sure there are other people that do not feel the same way, and that they will find fault somewhere, some how.,... BUT just remember, when all you have is lemons, make lemonade!
I have taken a new look on my own life. I was out of town on Friday, and came home on SAT am, to find that I380 had been closed to all traffic south of CR and there was no way to get into Cedar Rapids, no way to get to my home. When I asked a peace officer, guarding the blockade, where I could go to get there, he rather rudely told me that I would have to drive to Des Moines, up I35 to highway 20 and across to Waterloo and down I380 to CR.... a drive that would be about 5-6 hrs.
After I thought about it, I decided that at least I had a home that was dry, on the other side of that flood... and a job to go to when I was across that river....., and the water would not stay forever.
Then I " drank a big glass of that lemonade" and worked on getting home, doing whatever it took to get me there.

Am I responsible for my spouse's medical bills in Iowa when it comes to the FCRA?

When I checked my credit history recently, the collection agency placed it on my account as though I'm a joint holder of it.
Iowa is not a "community property" state but has a law that states the following:
597.14 FAMILY EXPENSES.
The reasonable and necessary expenses of the family and the education of the children are chargeable upon the property of both husband and wife, or either of them, and in relation hereto they may be sued jointly or separately.
To me this law states that I'm not liable for my spouse's bills until I'm taken to court.
The collection agency stated this law in their letter after I disputed this a second time. Do they have this right or not to use this law for their purposes?

After reading that statute on Iowa's website, I found this statute (537.7103 - 5. a) referenced under 597.14
537.7103 PROHIBITED PRACTICES.
5. A debt collector shall not engage in the following conduct to collect or attempt to collect a debt:
a. The seeking or obtaining of a written statement or acknowledgment in any form that specifies that a debtor's obligation is one chargeable upon the property of either husband or wife or both, under section 597.14, when the original obligation was not in fact so chargeable.
(in my opinion, it takes the teeth out of their use of 597.14)

The best agencies are in New York and LA. Thats it. You have to go to them. Not the other way around. If you are really serious, go to NYC and just walk into agencies. They will tell you. It should cost you nothing to be "assessed".

It doesn't matter which state you live in, if you can't do the work and get fired. Start by founding out what you are doing wrong that you get fired, and work on improving there first. If there any in Iowa, they are likely to be in the largest metropolitan area (is that still Des Moines?). You might want to try directory assistance for the Des Moines area. If that doesn't work, look in the phone book under state gov't. There will be an office dedicated to film production in that state. Someone in that office should be able to help you.

yes you can, I work in a law office and I see this all the time. you can go to the website of your sheriffs office and look to see if there is a warrant for your arrest. IN most cases you will get arrested because of not paying the fines. It is always best to pay the fines instead of having to bond yourself out of jail hire an attorney and eventually pay more fines and court costs. PAY THOSE TICKETS!

When the Child Support Collecting agency in my state fails to collect support from another state.?

I'm fed up with all the protocal related to getting money for child support. My daughters father lives in Cal. and her and I live in Iowa. He works a good job and always has. He owes over $50,000.00 in support and yet he never gets put in jail. Why can't they get him to pay consistantly? When he doesn't pay, why don't they put him in jail for 30 days like they do in Iowa? Is there another way I can collect the support without Iowa's Child Support Recovery agency? A private lawyer is not an option for me due to no money.

Wow can't believe that "stupid laws" CA can't enforce a child support order. In CA they will suspend your drivers license for non-support. They did that to my ex-boyfriend. (not the father of mine). The only way I ever got anywhere with child support is to keep bugging them. Call CA child support enforcement. Tell them to get off their lazy a**es.

Highly unlikely. He doesn't require enough care to qualify for in home help. If he is able to stay by himself while you are at work,there isn't a need. Care givers are paid by the state if the person has severe physical problems or they can't be left unattended at all. Having to drive him around isn't a reason to pay for a care giver.
I realize he takes alot of your time,but we all make sacrifices for those we love.

What Is The Penalty For A Class D Felony For Identity Theft In Iowa.?

My cousin had her identity stolen by her mom. (mom abandoned her, and is now using the stolen money for drugs). She had her SSN and put several things in her name the day she turned 18. Now collection agencies are calling. We traced it back to her mother, and have filed charges and there is a warrant out for her mom. Now we are curious to know what kind of penalty her mom would be facing. She has several arrests involving drugs and selling, but don't know if that would effect this case.

I live in Iowa so I have no clue what agency regulates california and am having trouble finding it on google. Does anyone know what agency regulates that in California and if they have a website with those regulations listed.

Cailifornia is regulated by USEPA Region 9 and California EPA. THe references are given. You may not find the actual design codes on their websites. Much of the code for the structures will be national building codes which are normally just referenced. THese sites will give you the regulations for treatements and permits, but not how to pore concrete.

What if you don't have the money to pay the traffic fines?

This is a follow up question regarding my friend who has outstanding traffic fines in Iowa and Nebraska. He received a letter yesterday saying if he doesn't pay his fines an arrest warrant will be issued (I don't know if it was from a collection agency or what have you) He doesn't have the money to pay these fines and he actually doesn't have a license either (it was suspended because of failure to pay). The main thing I'm concerned about is that he is supposed to fly to Canada in 2 weeks to visit me....can he get arrested at the airport if there is a warrant out for his unpaid traffic tickets or can he get arrested at the airport here in Toronto when he goes through immigration. Would Canadian authorites know about this warrant?
