Afton is located at 41°1′41″N, 94°11′49″W (41.027926, -94.197071).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 square miles (2.5 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 917 people, 384 households, and 251 families residing in the city. The population density was 931.7 people per square mile (361.3/km²). There were 407 housing units at an average density of 413.5/sq mi (160.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.69% White, 0.87% from other races, and 0.44% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.85% of the population.
There were 384 households out of which 29.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.9% were married couples living together, 8.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.4% were non-families. 31.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 2.88.

Does anyone have any information about an artist named A. A. Healy from Afton, Iowa?

I came across a photo album on ebay and inscribed next to a picture was the words A. A. Healy East Side Park Afton, Iowa, Artist. Could someone please provide me with any information about him.
Answer:
I did some heavy searching and didn't come up with much. There was another question online asking about "A.A. Healy Fine Art Galleries." That is a suggestion that Healy was not necessarily the artist, but rather had an art gallery or store.
Another possibility is that Healy's oeuvre was so small that there isn't enough of a record to have any documentation.
A third possibility, and I assure you that I am NOT belittling anyone here, is that Healy just wasn't very good and there hasn't been any interest in his/her work.
