City DescriptionWalton is a town in Tipton Township, Cass County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,069 at the 2000 census.
Walton is located at 40°39′44″N 86°14′31″W / 40.66222, -86.24194 (40.662327, -86.241860).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.1 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,069 people, 413 households, and 301 families residing in the town. The population density was 2,477.8 people per square mile (959.9/km²). There were 438 housing units at an average density of 1,015.2/sq mi (393.3/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 92.42% White, 0.19% African American, 0.75% Native American, 0.09% Asian, 5.89% from other races, and 0.65% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 10.66% of the population.
There were 413 households out of which 34.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.9% were married couples living together, 11.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.9% were non-families. 24.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
