In the Louisville, KY, including southern Indiana, where can I find an Asian grocery, especially Japanese? Question: I recently bought a cookbook of Japanese recipes, but most of the ingredients are unusual. It seems like the only place I would be able to find them would be at an Asian grocery.
I live in southern Indiana, in the Clarksville area, so I would prefer a grocery in New Albany, Clarksville, or Jeffersonville, but I'm not opposed to driving to Louisville.
Thank you in advance.
Answer:
There are only two places in town (Louisville) which carries Japanese food selections. Choi's Asian market on Lyndon Ln. Just north of LaGrange Rd.
Asian Food Market at Preston and Gilmore Ln. in the shopping plaza behind Wendy's. This one has most Japanese food selctions. To get a good selection, you'll have to drive to the one at Preston. Hope this help, and good luck on your cooking.

What is the history behind the naming of the Outlaw Airfield at Clarksville, TN ? Question: I am researching the Outlaw family surname in the Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri areas and wonder if there is a connection.
Answer:
Clarksville Airport Grand Opening: Outlaw Field dedicated October 27, 1929.
In August 1929, 225 acres of land was purchases from J.C. Caroland to pave way for an airport in Clarksville. Shortly after work began on a 200-foot runway and a concrete and steel hangar. Beginning October 27th, 1929 more than 3,000 people attended a three-day dedication ceremony held for the new airfield. A group of citizens purchased the land for the airport at a cost of $50 per public share.
The airport was named in honor of John F. Outlaw, known as the "Father of Aviation in Clarksville and Montgomery County." In the 1920's Outlaw had operated a private field in the northern part of Montgomery County. Colonel Outlaw, commanding officer of the 105th Observation Squadron Detachment, was killed by lightning on July 27, 1942, while serving with the Army Air Force in World War II. He was honored by a granite monument at a ceremony at Outlaw field on October 19, 1943.
Today, Outlaw Field boasts one of the longest runways in the state (for a non major airport) with 6,000 feet of asphalt. It has a secondary runway of 4,004 feet. Two additional hangars were built in 1988. The airport handles more than 10,000 flights per year.

how can a preacher retire from preaching and why should I continue to pay tithes? Question: I went to visit a church in clarksville Indiana where most of the congregation were retire preachers who retired. How in the world do you retire from preaching and where do they get the money if all they ever did was preach. I have also been to churches where preachers do not go out and evangelize to the world so why in the world should I keep paying my tithes if they aren't doing their work. and please don't ask how do I know he isn't out among the lost. the church are the boss of the pastor cause without the church he wouldnt be a pastor. if I'm tithing, you can bet I want to know what you are doing with God's money and if you are not making announcements of doing the Lord's work, then something is wrong.
Answer:
As LDS I know exactly where the money goes every six months and it is not salary. I pay tithe and fast offering which is the donation of what it would cost for two meals. Here is one of those reports;
In 2007 the Church responded to major earthquakes in 5 countries, massive fires in 6 countries, hunger and famine in 18 countries, and flooding and severe storms in 34 countries. In total the Church and its members responded to 170 major events---nearly one every two days for the entire year. It was a busy year with many opportunities to serve.
In addition to responding to natural disasters, we undertook thousands of public health initiatives during the year. Over 1 million people benefited from Church-sponsored clean water projects in 25 countries. More than 60,500 people received wheelchairs in 60 nations. Early this year Sister Burton and I, with the South America North Area Presidency, participated with the First Lady of Colombia in a wheelchair presentation. Tears came easily as receivers and their caregivers expressed their appreciation. In 11 countries, over 54,000 individuals now enjoy improved vision. Over 16,500 health-care professionals in 23 countries were trained in infant neonatal resuscitation; they, in turn, will train many others. In a quest to eliminate measles, 2.8 million children and youth in 10 countries received immunizations. The combined effects of these outreach endeavors directly touched nearly 4 million people in 85 countries.
In August a major 8.0 earthquake killed 520 people and destroyed more than 58,000 homes in southern Peru. In a marvelous display of love and concern, each of the 29 stakes in Lima, Peru, provided basic assistance to ward areas in the devastated region.
With the wonderful assistance of missionaries, a plan is under way to help individuals rebuild their homes and lives and replace several schools. As many as 400 homes may ultimately be built, with individuals, friends, and family doing much of the work. Supervision, coordination, and training are under the direction of Elder and Sister Alan Layton.
Late in the year a combination of dry weather and high winds fueled wildfires in southern California. These wildfires forced over one million people from their homes. At least 1,500 homes were destroyed. In response the Church provided cleaning kits, blankets, hygiene kits, and food. Over 5,000 Mormon Helping Hands along with missionaries cleaned, cooked, comforted, and cared for those affected

Which Southern cities are your favorite? Least favorite? Why? Question: Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Florida (geographically it's Southern but otherwise...), South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia. These states are considered Southern, as are their cities.
Some people call West Virginia southern. I'm not so sure I agree with that.
No part of Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, or Delaware can be considered Southern in any way.
My picks:
-Favs: Galveston, Austin, San Antonio, Ft. Worth, Memphis, Nashville, Mobile, Southhaven, MS
-Okay: Knoxville, Clarksville, TN, Jackson, MS, Dallas, Houston
-Not-so-favs: Louisville, Lexington, Orlando, Northern Virginia, New Orleans
-My favs: they're my favs b/c of the natural beauty, attractions and people
-Okay: these cities have a lot to offer but just doesn't suit my personality. I have nothing against them, though.
-My not-so-favs: these cities are beautiful (in some ways, at least,) but the people can be pretty rude.

Are my parents being reasonable? Question: I'm going to be 16 in less then two months.
I live in Indiana and and I have friends in Louisville, KY and I want to hang out with them and go bowling. Louisville is only about 20 minutes away from here and I have hung out with them in Clarksville, IN which is about 20 minutes away also.
My parents don't want to let me go because it's not in Indiana and they don't know them, but they have let me hang out with them before.
I have promised them that we will stay in the bowling alley or in the food court that is in the same area as the bowling alley. I have also told them that they are my friends and that if anyone gave me any problems they would take care of it.
I really like one of the guys that i would be hanging with and I'm pretty sure he's going to ask me out, but if i can't go I will be crushed.
I was just wondering whether it is reasonable that they are perfectly fine with and will let me hang out it one place with them but not in another?
I have been to Louisville many times and never had any problem, and I also wouldn't be doing anything to get into trouble.
Answer:
Of course it's reasonable - they don't want you crossing state lines by yourself. If you got into trouble of some sort, your local police dept would handle it, but in KY it would be a completely different jurisdiction with different laws. Ask your mom if she'd be willing to stick around at the mall or somewhere near where you'll be (away from you and your friends) while you're hanging out with them and see what she says. Just the idea that you're willing to compromise instead of throwing a fit might score you some points for being adult about it if nothing else.

Wow, seems like you've just been left out in the cold. Honestly, from the outside looking in it seems as if he has another intrest. Of course I don't know if it's a woman or not, but you already know you're no longer his priority especially when you dealing with something else right now.
You've already told him how you feel, and the fact that he chose to do nothing about it should tell you something.
As soon as you are no longer his priority, you should let him go. He's basically already done that to you.
Good Luck
