    I live is a small community named Cedar Lake, Indiana. It is nice, and is getting nicer (thank you millionaires building condos), and I hope this town will return to its former glory. All I know is Cedar Lake used to be a luxury resort town in the 1800's. I live in a house built in 1889 as a hotel. I hear Al Capone used to love this place. Please give me some more info if you can find it. I want to know everything about this town before any salvageable history is destroyed to house the rich (sorry if I am offending any rich people. do not sue. our family is wealthy too).

    The USA is not really known for our love of physical history, especially since we don't really have that many monumental buildings. Local history is always being buldozed because new property is more valuable. I was on the Historical Commission in a former residence, and by the time we were able to begin the legal process of placing a very old home on a historical national protection list, the structure collapsed on its own.

    I'm pretty sure you have to be 18 in Ohio, at least that's how it was when my friends and I used to road trip to Cedar Point.
