Questions Possibly Related to Cayuga, IndianaProvided By Y! Answers
Do you know anything about a Homer Johnson, born in 1902 in the Cayuga, Indiana area? Question: He died in 1951 and is buried in Clinton, Indiana. I was 4 years old at the time of his death and I know very little about him or his family. My grandcildren are asking me questions about him which I cannot answer.
He is my father
Thanks for the answer. It is in Vermillion County and I have been to the funeral home there which handled his funeral and also have got a copy of his death certificate. I have also been to the courthouse in Cayuga looking for military records. Apparently there had been some kind of a fire and records are not available.
Answer:
If you know his exact death date, and what county Clinton is in, you could ask someone to look up his obituary via a county board (below). That would be a start.
There are Clintons in Ripley and Vermillion counties in Indiana.
Added later:
You are welcome. Obits are in newspapers and a volunteer in that county might look it up for you in the local library - but, again, they would need the exact death date. I think the US Archives in Kansas lost a lot of service records due to a fire.
