Questions Possibly Related to Carlisle, IndianaProvided By Y! Answers
Is Rick Carlisle finished in Indiana? Question: All his star players seem to want to jump ship.
Does he need to curb his poisonous attitude?
It seems like next year's Pacer team might be very different with a lot of new faces...
You guys did hear Jermaine O'Neal and Stephen Jackson wanted to leave, right?
Answer:
It's amazing that Carlisle can get the results with all the Pacers have to deal with. Last year they took the Pistons to 6 games in the 2nd round w/o Ron Artest, this year they made the playoffs with so many injuries and the drama of Artest. Carlisle is doing an awesoem job in Indy, they just need to get the right players and need to get rid of their drama and they'll be fine.

Will the Indiana coach (Rick Carlisle) coach for the Sonics next season? Question: go to this site before you answer the question
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/teams/Indiana+Pace rs/nba.t.11
the sonics need a new coach. Should the Sonics sign Lewis? What moves will the Sonics need to make in the offseason to be successful next season?
Answer:
He'd be a good fit. That team plays some terrible defense. It will depend on what they do with Allen and Lewis. If they decide that those two, along with Ridnour and Collison, are worth building around, they might be more inclined to bring in a big name coach.
If they do that, stay healthy, and get an instant contributor in the draft, they can vie for the 8th seed.
That said, they might take this opportunity to unload Allen while he still has value, and maybe sign & trade Lewis for some youth & draft picks. In which case, don't expect much next year.

Who is more at fault for the Pacers? Rick Carlisle or Larry Bird? Question: You can really go either way one this question and personally it's tough to decide but I don't think either should be fired this year but I do think the Pacers need to stop relying on the draft in the offseason and sign free agents. I am sorry but I am from Indianapolis and the people of Indiana are frustrated with the fact that even with us being the basketball capital of the world we still don't have an NBA Chapionship in this state, it's like one of the Canadien NHL teams not having a NHL Championship, it's just wrong. What do you think?
Wow Hi, thank you for you jerk off comment. The Pacers won two ABA Titles before the NBA bought them and since then they have been one of the top five teams to consitently make the playoffs in all of the NBA so don't ever tell me they won't win. I guaruntee you now just like I gaurnteed that the Colts would win 2 or more Super Bowls when Bill Polian joined the Colts that the Pacers WILL win an NBA Championship within the next ten years.
Answer:
It's Bird's fault, he doesn't even know what kind of team he wants, what kind of players to get. Yes they pulled a big trade this season, but has it really benefitted the Pacers?

Fellow Pacers fans, should Carlisle lose his job or is this not totally his fault? Question: I am really not sure where I stand. It's frustrating to see my hometown NBA team be in such disarry and it's getting to the point where you don't know what the Pacers can do to be contenders again. Sometimes I wish they would just be horrible so we can get a top five draft pick in forever so we can finally have someone that can help Jermaine, and while Granger is getting better he is taking alot of time. Alot of the Pacers problems is not the cause of all of the problems the Pacers have been having, in fact he helped get the Pacers past those problems, but the problem is that Indiana is tired of just making the playoffs and that's it. Indiana is the land of basketball and it drives us nuts that we haven't had a NBA Title in this state. What do you think?
Answer:
If he gets fired, then so should Larry Bird. Bird was the one who tried to throw a whole bunch criminals together and call them a team.

Answer:

Trying to find obituary/photo of a person? Question: I'm working in a Living Cemetery Walk, and putting together information about a gentleman, by the name of Landon Carlye (alternative spellings Landan, Carlisle) I know he was born in 1802 in Virgina, and died in LaPorte County Indiana. I haven't been able to find an obituary or a clear photograph of the man. Any help would be appreciated.
Answer:
Don't have a clue as to a regular obit... but if anyone would know, seems like it might be the lady who posted about him on the Carlisle genforum-
http://www.genforum.genealogy.com/carlyle/messages/149 .html
I took a look at Jamie's posting history there, and find she was still posting as of 2005... so I hope the email address is still good. Here is another posting from someone else, another board-
http://www.genforum.familytreemaker.com/stickley/messages /125.html
where he is named as father in law, and still alive in 1880.
IF there was a photo, I have found them in county history books, OR handed down through descendents. This is one time when it is absolutely worth while finding living persons, especially those who are already doing research on him.
IF you don't have an email contact in your profile.. please please send me a note via mine. I should not be trying to think this late at night. I might be able to find more, when my mind is clearer.

Native Americans??? Question: What are some current Native American reservations?
What was the Carlisle school?
Who was Captain Richard Henry Pratt?
What was the Manual Labor Institute in Wabash, Indiana?
Answer:
St. Croix, Oneida, Lac Courte Oreilles, Sokaogon Chippewa, Potawatomi, Menominee, Lac du Flambeau, Red Cliff, Winnebago and Bad River are all Indian Reservations in Wisconsin.
For information on history of the Car lisle School check out:
http://home.epix.net/~landis/histry.html
Richard Pratt was a mass murderer who hid behind his military career. He is known for his disgusting motto: "Kill the Indian, save the man". Pathetic excuse for a man.
I am not familiar with the Manual Labor Institute that you have referred too, I have heard about White's Manual Labor Institute in Iowa. It was started by Josiah White in the 1800's as a manual training school for poor children, white, colored and Indian. It was probably more like Hell on Earth to the poor souls who had to endure it's "educational training".

Im calling this one..Stan Van Gundy will coach the Magic next season!? Question: what do you guys think?
" Wire services
May. 24, 2007 11:57 PM
Former Heat coach Stan Van Gundy, who turned down an offer this week to coach the Indiana Pacers, said Thursday that he has "a great interest" in coaching the Orlando Magic next season.
Orlando General Manager Otis Smith announced Thursday that coach Brian Hill will not return.
Said Van Gundy: "It's a good job and not much of a lifestyle adjustment for my family." "
Source: azcentral.com article (newspaper)
He led the Heat to the EC finals in 2003 without Shaq. Just a young Wade and Odom team. I think this guy is an excellent coach and is definitely a better pick than rick carlisle. opinions?
Answer:
He may be the front runner, but its not official. Phoenix assistant Marc Iavaroni could also hear from the Magic.
Other respected aides who might be candidates include the Spurs' P.J. Carlesimo, the Bulls' Jim Boylan and the Lakers' Brian Shaw.
