Where can I find help for Christmas in Burns Harbor Indiana? Question: I'm a single mom of 3 kids and I worried my kids wont have a good Christmas. With the economy the way it is its hard just to make ends meet. I try to save but it just seems like all my money is going towards bills and gas. Where can I go for help in Burns Harbor, Indiana?
Answer:
If your children are in school, talk to the school counselor. Often times, a school or a class will collect food and toys for a few families for the holidays. If you let the counselor know of your situation and your need, there is a good chance your family will be chosen.
Do you belong to a church? If not, join one. Churches are a great place for help. They are generous and being around people who care about you and your kids sometimes makes the world of difference and not just during the holidays.
Contact the civic groups in the area. (Lions, Elks, Moose Lodge, etc.) These groups are always donating to people in need.
Good luck.
