Do you want to know what I think of the Dallas Mavericks?
    Question:
Pat Riley first promised it 11 years ago: a Miami Heat victory parade down Biscayne Boulevard. Shaquille O'Neal guaranteed it two summers ago, vowing to add a fourth ring to his big hand in his new city. And with one tenacious game after another in these NBA finals, Dwyane Wade delivered both. The Miami Heat are champions for the first time, thanks to two basketball greats who made good on their promises -- and the next great one, whose promise seems unlimited. The man they call "Flash" had 36 points and 10 rebounds in the teeth of a hostile Dallas crowd Tuesday night, capping his magnificent playoffs and the Heat's sizzling four-game comeback by leading Miami past the Mavericks 95-92. "It's one of the best feelings, next to my wife and my son, that I've ever had in my life," Wade said. "I'm going to live it up!" The Heat roared back from a two-game deficit to win the NBA finals in six. Wade, the obvious finals MVP, cemented his superstardom with a dominant four-game performance capped by four pressure-packed, final-minute free throws in the same building where Miami went down two games to none. He even missed a pair in the waning seconds, giving Dallas a final shot to tie. But Jason Terry missed an open look for 3, and Wade grabbed the rebound and flung it joyously into the stands as time expired. Where there's a Wade, there's a will. His grace added a fifth ring to Riley's finger -- third-most among NBA coaches -- and the first jewelry in Shaq's collection with no connection to Kobe Bryant. "The great Pat Riley told me we were going to win today," said O'Neal, who had nine points and 12 rebounds. "I didn't have the best game. But D-Wade's been doing it all year. He's the best player ever." Dirk Nowitzki had 29 points and 15 rebounds for the Mavs, but Dallas couldn't manage the last basket it needed to topple Wade's determination. With their crowd booing every call and seething with every missed opportunity, the Mavs missed their own chance for their first title. A day after the Carolina Hurricanes became first-time champions in the NHL by winning the Stanley Cup, Miami also made history. The Heat finished the franchise's 18th season with one of the league's greatest rallies in a finals, and the last period of Game 6 was appropriately gritty. Miami nursed a narrow lead, taking an 89-85 advantage with 2:36 left on two jumpers by James Posey. Jerry Stackhouse cut it to a point with a 3-pointer in his first game back from suspension, but after Udonis Haslem and Josh Howard traded jumpers, Wade hit two free throws with 26 seconds left. Erick Dampier then fumbled a pass on Dallas' next possession, and Wade fought to get the loose ball. He hit two more free throws with 17.7 seconds to play, but after Howard hit a pair, Wade missed two with 10.3 seconds left. But Terry missed an open 3-pointer. It was the last of 11 straight misses, and the final disappointment in the Mavs' otherwise remarkable season. "We made a lot of progress this year," said Dallas' Avery Johnson, the NBA's coach of the year. "We aimed high this year, and I told them that a lot of teams have to go through this. This will really hurt this summer. I hope they work out hard, make me a better coach. I'm ready to try it again." Miami hung onto the clincher in front of more than 20,000 Dallas fans still furious at every NBA official and commissioner David Stern for the Mavs' three losses in Miami last week. Owner Mark Cuban stoked the furor with his antics after Game 5, which resulted in a $250,000 fine earlier Tuesday. But while the Mavs worried about every perceived slight, the Heat focused on fulfilling the promises of Riley and O'Neal. "I came to Miami because of this young fella right here," O'Neal said, indicating Wade. "I knew I wanted to make him better." Dallas' fans both booed and cheered the trophy presentation, and Stern was jeered repeatedly. Cuban stole the finals spotlight earlier in the day, getting socked with the fine for his complaints about the officials and general conspiracy theory. All of Dallas caught the Mavs' us-against-the-world vibe: Signs supporting Cuban and suggesting a league conspiracy against the Mavs dotted the stands for Game 6, and fans screamed at Stern in his courtside seat. But the series actually was controlled by Wade, who ascended to the most elite tier of NBA stars. He scored 121 points in three victories in Miami before capping it with one more tenacious win. Riley wiped away tears while hugging his players, and Miami crowded onto the hastily assembled podium with the excitement of a high-school graduation. Riley, who won his first ring since 1988, claimed he never considered the possibility Miami wouldn't finish with four straight wins. "I packed one suit, one shirt and one tie," he said before the game. "That's it." Riley tied John Kundla with his fifth title as a head coach. Only Phil Jackson and Red Auerbach have more, with nine apiece. O'Neal, who fought foul trouble, was held to two of his worst career playoff games in the earlier Dallas debacles, and he endured another extraordinary struggle at the free-throw line in the series. None of it will matter to the Big Champ: He'll take a special pride in winning his first ring without Bryant. Their partnership resulted in three titles and four finals trips for the Los Angeles Lakers, but their clashing egos caused a power struggle that led to Shaq's trade. O'Neal has no such problems with Wade, and their cohesion peaked in Miami's four finals wins. Riley, the slick-haired strategist who led the Lakers to four titles in the 1980s, now has vindication from those who criticized his decision to take over the club from coach Stan Van Gundy early in the season. Leaning on Riley's savvy in coaching veterans and defense, the Heat rolled through the postseason with surprising force -- never even facing a seventh game. Riley now has seven rings, counting his single championships as a player and an assistant coach. And the Heat's roster is studded with stars who never won a title. Point guard Gary Payton reached the finals with three teams before finally grabbing the ring, while Alonzo Mourning played through 13 seasons, two retirements and a serious kidney ailment for a championship. Antoine Walker, Jason Williams, Posey, Haslem -- all endured serious career troubles, and now they're all champions, too. Baron Davis knew his tender hamstring would limit him, so Stephen Jackson took a huge load off Golden State's do-everything star. Davis and Jackson shot the ragtag Warriors right into the second round, capping perhaps the NBA's biggest playoff upset with yet one more memorable performance on their home floor. Davis willed his team on one good leg, shaking off a strained hamstring to score 20 points, Jackson made a franchise playoff-record seven 3-pointers, and Golden State became the first No. 8 seed to capture a best-of-seven playoff series with a 111-86 victory over the NBA-best Dallas Mavericks in Game 6 on Thursday night. Whoa, Nellie, what a shocker! "We made NBA history tonight and that's the best thing about it. We did it as a team," Davis said. "I'm so proud of my teammates and proud to be a part of this franchise." Coach Don Nelson's emotional bunch of castoffs beat his old organization by holding likely league MVP Dirk Nowitzki to eight points and 2-for-13 shooting, after he saved the Mavs with 30 points in their six-point Game 5 win Tuesday. The Warriors, making their first playoff appearance in 13 years, will open the second round Monday night at either Houston or Utah. "This is a pretty special place to be right now," Nelson said. Jackson -- who avoided a suspension for Game 6 after two ejections in the series -- hit four 3-pointers during a decisive 24-3 third-quarter run and finished with a playoff career-high 33 points. "I wanted to be aggressive," Jackson said. "Baron came out and told me he wasn't feeling as good as he had in previous games, and he wanted me to carry us. I wanted to stay focused, not worry about calls, not get too emotional, just bring my energy with my play." Davis also added 10 rebounds and six assists. He sat down with 2:19 to play, throwing his arms in the air to the fans who chanted "MVP!" When the final buzzer sounded, the Warriors hugged as confetti streamed onto the court. Andris Biedrins had 12 points and 12 rebounds, not to mention a handful of key hustle plays, Matt Barnes took advantage of his first start of the series with 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists, and Jason Richardson added 15 points, five rebounds and four assists. "It feels great, that's the only words I can say," Richardson said. "I don't know when I have to pinch myself or wake up from this dream. This is everything I wanted. I wanted this for our fans, for our organization, for ourselves. We work hard and we deserve it." Josh Howard scored 20 points and Jerry Stackhouse had 14 of his 20 points in the first quarter for the 67-win Mavericks, who along with volatile owner Mark Cuban had high hopes of going deep in the postseason after their remarkable regular-season showing. The Warriors became only the third eighth seed to upset the No. 1 and the first since the opening round went from best-of-five to the current format. The Denver Nuggets (1994) and the New York Knicks (1999) are the only other teams to win a series. After years of failure and its share of unsuccessful personnel moves, Golden State is suddenly as big in the Bay Area as Barry Bonds' home run chase across the water in San Francisco. "Baron toughed it out," Barnes said. "He's our leader and nothing's going to stop him right now. We've got a lot of talent and a lot of heart and we're looking to do a lot more damage." The Warriors lured Nelson out of retirement to turn around a franchise that hadn't been to the postseason since he took them there in 1994 during his first stint as coach, dropping former Stanford coach Mike Montgomery in late August after two losing seasons. Back home, Golden State won again behind its deafening, towel-waving crowd that Mavs coach and former Warrior Avery Johnson described this way: "If you haven't been to the playoffs in 13 years, your fans are going to be pretty crazy." And the "We Believe" mantra that now rocks Oakland -- Mickael Pietrus led the team out of the locker room holding one of the bright yellow T-shirts sporting the logo -- has even caught the attention of celebrities like rapper Snoop Dogg, popular guitarist Carlos Santana, actors Woody Harrelson, Owen Wilson and Kate Hudson, and golfer Fred Couples. They were all in the stands for the clincher -- and a few even headed to the celebratory locker room afterward. Ron Artest stopped by to offer his best, too. "The fans gave us so much energy," Richardson said. "It felt great that we actually put them away like that. We played great defense tonight." Nowitzki missed his first eight shots, bricking consecutive 3-point tries late in the second quarter before hitting a 16-footer for his first basket of the game with 38 seconds left in the period. Dallas trailed 50-48 at the break but couldn't match the Warriors' energy in the third. The Mavs went 5:07 without scoring as Golden State turned it into a rout, leading 86-63 going into the final 12 minutes. "We were there at halftime," Johnson said. "We were only down two. We just came out and had one of our worst third quarters this year. ... This is a very disappointing end to the season." The Warriors traded for Jackson in January in an eight-player swap with the Indiana Pacers to pair him with a healthy Davis as this playoff-starved franchise tried -- and ultimately succeeded -- to end the NBA's longest postseason drought. Johnson, groomed by Nellie to be a head coach, said the Warriors had "10,000 pounds on their right arms up there in Oakland" to close out a series Golden State led 3-1, but 20,677 screaming fans from every corner of Oracle Arena put all the pressure on the cold-shooting Mavs. The Warriors hadn't won a best-of-seven series in 31 years, since beating Detroit in a first-round series in 1975-76 -- the year after winning their only NBA championship in California. Golden State had lost its last five best-of-sevens and hadn't won any playoff series since beating San Antonio 3-1 in the first round in 1990-91. Johnson brought his team back to California immediately after Game 5 so the Mavs could get more comfortable in the Warriors' raucous confines, while Golden State spent the night in Dallas. Dallas' first seven made field goals were 3s, 4-of-6 from Stackhouse in the opening period, and the Mavs were 0-for-14 from 2-point range before Jason Terry's jumper at the 11:22 mark of the second quarter. "Great regular season, but a disappointing finish in the playoffs," Terry said. "We all take fault in our mistakes, but you have to give credit where credit is due. That's a hot team." Barnes earned his first start of the series over Monta Ellis and played through a pulled right hamstring, just like Davis. The Mavs, who lost in last year's NBA finals, became the first time to win 65 games and fail to win at least one playoff series. Even worse, it came against Nelson, who spent 10 seasons helping taking Dallas from among the league's worst teams to one of the best. "This is not like last year was," Cuban said. "Losing the finals was really painful. This is just the first round." That's what I think about Dallas. Source(s): Yahoo.com

    Answer:
    yeaaa! Go Heat!!!!!!!!!

Is this a good NBA trade for all the teams involved?
    Question:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=987~100 6~981~617~1016~2421~1013~615~996~3012&teams=29~11~29~17~11~29~17~ 13~11~13&te=&cash= I think its pretty fair. I dont really see any bad acquisitions, except maybe for Memphis, but thats pretty good for giving up basically no one and a player who doesnt want to play there in the first place The lakers get an ok deal too with O'Neal, maybe they can get past the first round this time with this line up... G Fisher G Bryant F Walton F O'Neal C Bynum/or Mihm And Indiana gets a great deal. They dont have a good team anyways, and with Pau and Jefferson, thats a good basis, and Rad would do this job. New Jersey get an alright deal too. Everyone says Odom is bad, but i think that would be a great team with Kidd, Carter and Odom, they will be pretty darn good. This probably wont happen with all 4 teams, but its pretty cool.

    Answer:
Good trade except for the Memphis Grizzlies. They give up Gasol to get poor quality centers in Jason Collins and Kwame Brown. They do not solve their problems by getting them and they obviously do not fill the spot that Gasol once filled. Excluding the Grizzlies, all the teams fare well. They all improve in the areas they need to improve in. But because the Grizzlies seem to get the short end of the stick, I don't think this trade would ever even be considered. The Grizzlies wouldn't trade Pau Gasol for a bunch of nobodies that include a No. 1 bust draft pick in 2001.

The Lakers resigned Fisher and Mihm so now what?
    Question:
Ok they resigned Fisher and Mihm so what should they do? Ok Kevin Garnett is staying put so what should they do.The only thing out there for them is Jermaine O'neal and in order to get o'neal pacers want bynum and odom.If thats the case the Lakers should ask for Granger back or Marques Daniels back.Which this want happend i look at it like this ok Indiana doesn't want just anybody for o'neal and the lakers feel like there asking for to much for o'neal ok make a deal happend where you get o'neal either Granger or Daniels back.Odom is a good player but his more of a small foward point foward whatever.O'neal and bryant are buddies so I think the combo of those two would work out ok.I would not bring Sasha back.I would either sign Matt Barnes I would say hassan adams but im not sure.Gotta make a deal if not your going into next year with the same team yeah i know everybody got injured but still there team is not that good can you blame Kobe?

    Answer:
They got what they deserve a hurt player and an over the hill bench player i bet Kobes happy about this im sure hes gone now next they will trade off there good players

Would you trade Bynum and Odom for Jermaine Oneal if you were the Lakers Owner? why or why not?
    Question:
Rumor said the Lakers turned down this trade a week ago which than made kobe bryant to decide to fly to spain and once again demand a trade from Jerry Buss. Is kobe justified for demanding to be traded if Jerry Buss really did say No to this trade with Indiana?

    Answer:
I would have in a heartbeat. Also part of this trade would have been Kwame Brown for Troy Murphy. Jermaine would have brought DEFENSE (especially interior defense) to L.A.

    How about this trade?
    Question:
Portland would get the SF they need, Indiana would get a good deal for O'neal plus a few players they can develop over in Europe, Philadelphia would get a nice starting 5 and some good players to develop and build around, L.A. would get some nice players to put around Kobe Bryant and O'neal. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?pl ayers=981~2748~3197~3002~617~1016~2789~2421~3206~3245~2750~1708~1 013~615~1024~2754~3208~2768~454~550~3025~2795~3204~3004~991~2004~ 2386~2810~2988~2783&teams=11~11~20~22~11~11~11~11~20~20~13~22~13~ 13~22~20~20~13~11~20~20~20~11~11~22~22~22~13~13~11&te=&cash=11:13 ~11:22~11:20 Plus Indiana would get some contracts that are up in a few years. So they could sign a nice free agent Lets face it the Lakers need another team or even a couple of teams to pull off a trade for O'neal. Also if they got a couple more teams involved they could trade away some of there talent (or whats left) to get some semi-vets/ vets to put around Kobe and O'neal. This would also give the young players a chance to develop and also who wouldn't want to get teachings from Kobe and O'neal?

    Answer:
That will not work for the Lakers for sure. Yes they will get O'Neal only (Troy Murphy overrated & overpaid) but you clean up the whole locker room even all of the rookie from this year's draft. The only 4 names missing: Kobe, Luke, Mihm (not even sure he can play this year) and Mo Evans. When the whole locker room cleared out, there is no chance in hell that they can be playoff contender. From this trade, it work most for Portland because they got igoudala (really good young player and cheap too), Jamaal Tinsley (great passer but nobody ever take notice), Jordan Farmar (young player with great vision). Only downside - heavy pocket for next 4 years paying 10 M for player with Dalembert caliber.

Now that Boston have "The Big Three"...what now for the Lakers?
    Question:
Boston being a champion contender, that's amazing. Now the Lakers have to build their own big three, so that the rivalry of Lakers and Boston will be resurrected again. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?playe rs=981~2748~1998~1016~3245~2760~615~3189&teams=11~11~11~11~11~13~ 13~13&te=&cash=11:13~13:11 The Indiana Pacers wants to rebuild then, build around Bynum. They don't want Odom then these trade is the most possible answer for them. Put some future 1st round and 2nd round draft picks too in the mix. Starting line-up Lakers: PG: Derek Fisher SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Danny Granger PF: Lamar Odom C: Jermain O'neal Bench: Farmar, Crintenton, Turriaf, Evans, Vujavic, Mihm, and add another big to make the front court a little bigger This won't make them a title contender yet, but will make them better. Trade Farmar or Crintenton too if Indiana wants them, just don't trade both of them. So what do you all think?

    Answer:
I would definitely do that if I were the Lakers because at best Bynum would probably develop into a JO-type player when he hits his prime. So in essence they would be skipping all the years of growing for him. However, it kind of feels like the Lakers are just giving a bunch of junk to the Pacers for a franchise player and promising youth. I am not a big fan of Radman, Cook, or Kwame. I believe that they are all overpaid and I would rather have Granger than any one of them. I think if LA could convince Indiana to do this, it would appease Kobe. However, I don't think that this starting lineup will become as great a team as some people project it to be. JO is too inconsistent in games played and effort.

it fells so good to be back ok 25 th pick how bout how boyt going back two the nets picks there is no way in hell they should take two post players they shbould of taken davis and douby now back to the cavsWhen Larry Hughes is healthy the Cavaliers have a solid starting five in Eric Snow, Hughes, LBJ, Gooden, and Ilgauskas. Cleveland should look for a point guard in the draft to not only back up Snow, but to replace him when he retires. so i pick Guard Quincey douby (i am telling you he should of been taken by the nets SCOUTING REPORT: Scoring is not an issue for Douby. After leading the Big East in scoring as a junior at 24 points per game, Douby decided to enter the NBA draft. He did not hire an agent in case he decides to return to school. There are a lot of things offensively Douby can do. He has tremendous shooting range and can create his own shot quite easily. Douby shot a respectable 46-percent from the floor as a junior, including hitting 40 percent of his 3-point shots. He really opened scouts' eyes last season when he scored 41 points, including nine 3s against Syracuse. Douby had eight 30-point games his junior year. He has a smooth release on his jumper and is an excellent free-throw shooter (85 percent last season). He also averaged 4.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists last year. His scoring average shot up from 15.1 points per game as a sophomore to 25.4 as a junior. When he is hot, he can really fill it up from the outside. He is also a very capable ball-handler, which he needed dearly at Rutgers where he faced many double- and triple-teams because of a lack of a supporting cast. Size and strength are weaknesses for Douby. He's only 6-foot-3 and many scouts doubt his ability to play the point and run a team. Defensively, bigger guards will be able to physically overmatch him. However, Douby does aggressively defend and gives maximum effort. His scoring ability and polished offensive game makes him a borderline first-round pick.

    Answer:
Sergio Rodriguez This young point guard may fill the Suns most pressing need, a back up and successor for Steve Nash. Rodriquez nicknamed "Spanish Magician", owns a variety of offense weapons, but is at his best when breaking down defenders with his lethal crossover, or feeding a teammate for an easy basket. Rodriguez is blessed with incredible quickness and ball handling ability that make taking any defender 1-1 appear effortless. He has the uncanny ability to see passing lanes before they open up, thus enabling him to nearly always make the right decision with the ball. While not incredibly gifted athletically, like Nash, Sergio always finds a way to get the shot up, or draw the foul when around the basket. Hits open shots, especially in the clutch, and shoots the three ball well enough to keep any defender honest. An ideal Suns point guard that loves to run the fast break, using his extreme quickness and good finishing ability to convert most of the time. Quickness and anticipation make him a capable ball hawk, as well as a solid off the ball defender. His nickname (The Spanish Magician) fits him well, sometimes it appears the moves he makes, and the passes he fires, aren't real. The Suns, a smallish team, has performed well in the new up-tempo offensive focused NBA. The Suns, however, has suffered when Steve Nash misses a game or any significant minutes during competitive games against tough opponents. Leandro Barbosa, Eddie House, and Raja Bell, though all capable and talented offensive players at the 2 guard position, are not nearly as effective at the point guard spot as Rodriguez can be. Rodriguez could fill that void as an able replacement for Nash during games, while being groomed as the 32 year-old Steve Nash's successor. Nash has looked worn out in the playoffs and may soon be on the downside of his career. Giving Nash a capable back-up will alow the Suns to reduce Nash's minutes, thereby making him more effective late in games. Watching how Devin Harris' game has elevated Dallas this year, leads me to belive that another talented point guard could be just what the doctor ordered to get the Suns over the hump.

    Answer:
Aaron Gray would be my first pick, he would replace Etan Thomas and make the bench deeper. He excels at catching rebounds which makes the Wizards an even faster team though he is a poor free throw shooter. Saer Sene may also make a good defensive player because of his long reach and extreme height and would probably make a good center/dunker also. I'm tempted to say he could be like Shaq but he may turn out like Manute Bol the more we see him. In my opinion, the Wizards need more of a defensive-laden but speedy scheme with players like Shawn Marion and Samuel Dalembert.

    Answer:
Kevin Pittsnogle NBA Position: PF/C College: West Virginia Class: Senior Ht: 6-10 Wt: 255 Pittsnogle is a tremendous shooting bigman. He has proven time and again that he can not only knock down shots from outside with consistency, but also big shots in big game stuations (Dallas could have used this when Dirk Nowitzki was double teamed by Miami in the Finals). He fills this deep team's only glaring need, a quality bigman to relieve Dirk as a quality shooter/scorer. He could also play with Dirk at center to give Dallas another look. Pittsnogle could help Dallas reach the next level (a championship), his shooting ability can spread the floor by forcing a big man to guard him on the perimeter. Other than Dirk, Dallas doesn't have a big man on the roster with that type of ability. Kevin is a hard worker, and in the past year he worked hard on improving his athleticism and quickness, which is allowing him to score and rebound better. Has good competitiveness and toughness. Excellent free throw shooter at 85%. Great maturity, four year player at West Virginia. His passing skills and ball protection have improved in his senior year. Has added a nice turn around jump hook to his offensive game. Drafting Kevin Pittsnogle, Devin Harris and Josh Howard in three consecutive drafts would be tremendous for Dallas. Mr. Jones, I suggest that you ask for 29 & 30 together, given that you won't have much time to pick before the draft.

    Answer:
Oleksiy Pecherov Athletic European with inside/outside game, Pecherov is the type of player the Knicks need. This type of player has worked out well in Dallas (Dirk Nowitzki) This small team needs a big man that can score to compliment the team's nucleus, Jamal Crawford and Channing Frye and vet point guard Stephon Marbury. At 6-10 and a strong inside and outside game, he can be groomed at the small forward position and join the 6-11 Eddy Curry at center, the 6-11 Frye at power forward, as a small forward and help turn the smallish Knicks to a competitive team with an imposing front line.
