City DescriptionBrownsburg is a town in Hendricks County, Indiana, United States. The population was 14,520 at the 2000 census. The 2006 Indiana Population Estimate Update estimated the population as 18,850.
Brownsburg is located at 39°50′31″N 86°23′44″W / 39.84194, -86.39556 (39.842032, -86.395641).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 7.3 square miles (19.0 km²). With Indianapolis being the capital of Indiana, the Crossroads of America, and Brownsburg being so close to Indianapolis, Brownsburg is a very accessible town. Interstate 74 runs from Iowa to Cincinnati, crossing the northern part of Brownsburg before entering Indianapolis. Interstate 65 is also nearby along the northeast side, although not running directly into the town limits. Interstate 70 runs about 10 miles south of Brownsburg. State Road 267 (Green Street) runs north and south through the middle of Brownsburg and serves as one of the town's main thoroughfares. US 136 (or Main Street) runs east and west along the southern half of the town.
