What can you tell me about Spencer and/or Bloomington, Indiana?
    Question:
Hey, I just got a job offer at a company out in Spencer, Indiana. I'm from NJ and went to school in Boston, haven't been out there yet but might need to decide about it unseen. Anyway, if you know anything about it, I want to know about the climate (the winters), what the scenery is like the people, the commute between Spencer and Bloomington, the college there, basically any general or detailed info you can give me that will help me get an idea of the place. If you could compare it in context to Boston, that'd help. Keep in mind I've never been to the midwest at all, except Ohio once. Thanks a bunch!

    Answer:
Spencer is very country-- not at all like boston. Bloomington isn't like Boston either-- a little more run down--- I think the college keeps it afloat. The commute between the Spencer and Bloomington isn't bad. The college is great-- you couldn't ask for any better college except IUPUI in Indy. In both places the country is beautiful-- great wildlife, hunting and fishing. Culturally, it is a bit white-bread and there are not many cultural attractions in either place.

Can I get into Boston University, Drexel or Indiana U at bloomington with a 2.97 GPA and a 1900 SAT?
    Question:
I failed Honors algebra II in sophomore year. I can't raise my GPA any more, I'm a senior now. I'm President of my school's Model U.N. Involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters for 3 years President of Asian Student Union Started an underground school newspaper Taken mostly Honors courses-but did average in them Taking ACT's in October. volunteered at a nursing home every month in 9th grade Student Council for 2 years. Ran for school president in 10th grade (lost) Member of the French Club I'm hoping to go to college.

    Answer:
I've been in the situation of having high SAT scores and not-so-high grades. At that point, an admissions committee will have a lot of discretion on whether to admit you, and whether you get in can depend a lot on subjective factors. What you have to think about is how to convince them that your SATs are more indicative of what you can do than your grades are, and then write an essay that really makes your case. In your case, it sounds like your GPA was pulled down by one class. Did you take math after that? If so, and if you got better grades in later math classes, you might be able to persuade them that you made up the things you failed to learn in that one class. Do you have a career goal that does not require a lot of math? For example, if you want to be a journalist and emphasize good grades in English and forming an underground newspaper, they may give lower weight to your math grades. Be creative, and put yourself into their shoes. What can you tell them that will convince them that you have the potential to do well at their college.

My family and I spent the entire weekend in Chicago. On Saturday, we drove to South Bend, Indiana to go to the Notre Dame football game where Notre Dame was going to play against Boston College. Boston College won the game. BC was 27, and ND was 14. It was pretty Wild and Exciting!

    Answer:
I'm a huge fan of ND...Have family ties to ND all over the place-father, uncles, cousins all went there, and my grandfather taught there for over 40 years... With all that said, needless to say this season has been a big disappointment...but to answer your question, no not to this years BC game...but I have been there at better (winning) times...There's nothing like ND on a football weekend...

What songs should I prepare for my vocal audition for college?
    Question:
I am going to be a senior in high school and aspire to become a music major in college (probably somewhere in Texas or Boston or Indiana). I want to learn as much as possible about becoming a music major in college from choosing what songs to audition with, if SAT scores are important, if there are a lot of career opportunities after graduation, etc. Any helpful information and tips to maximize my chances for acceptance would be greatly appreciated!

    Answer:
WOW! The 1t person who answered obviously had no experience as a music major what so ever. I am a music major so I'll tell you about the process. 1st off, you need to be accepted in to the college AND the Music Dept. The music Dept. does not look at your SAT score, they only care about how well you can sing other stuff I'm going to explain. When you sing for university jusges you need to know 2-3 songs that contrast in nature. I'm going to tell you something, at least 1 is not in Italian, they will boot you so fast it will not even be funny. The other should be in another foreign language like latin of french. It HAS to be memorized. The second thing they do is play a random set of notes/rhythms to you in the piano. You have to sing it back to them. Lastly they will give you a sheet music paper with something that they wrote, give you a starting pitch and you will have to sing it too them. Then you will have to take a theory test. They want to make sure you can identify scales and the names of notes. Take Every music class you can in HS. Also, they usually want proof of 4+ years of private voice lesson, If you have not done this get yourself a teacher. These are general things I ran into everywhere I auditioned. Just so you know, judges are intimidating. They don't applaud you like an audience does.

K.G. going from Boston to Lakers?
    Question:
It seems like it is all falling into place now with Kobe finally getting another big man. It appears pretty obvious that this is the first of a few different moves that will land Garnett in L.A. with the Kobster. Try to follow, in a three way deal, Boston trades K.G. to Indiana for Jermaine O'Neal and a 5th round pick. Then L.A. sends Lamar Odem and a player to be named later to Indiana for KG in order to finally provide Kobe and the Lakers the "big man" they need in order to be somewhat competitive. Who knows, if they have great chemistry, and play above and beyond their ability, they might even be able to compete with Shaq and D. Wade.

    Answer:
Laker fans are so dillusional, you think the Celtics would move K.G. from their CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM....why play with Kobe...when you can play with Ray Allen AND Paul Pierce....lets me real for a minute ok

    Question:
    ROFL! Answer:
that would be a good trade for indiana but it wont happen

What college did you get into and what were your stats?
    Question:
I got into Rutgers, Stony Brook, Boston University (ED), and Indiana University. I got rejected by Wisconsin but I'm still waiting on NYU, UFL, and GWU, (not that I can get into any of them since I did ED :( Here are my stats: 1) 3.6 GPA (not sure if it's weighted or not) 2) 1140 SATs 3) 2 Leadership positions 4) 2 sports (winter and spring track) 5) 5 clubs/ECs 6) 2 part time jobs 7) Volunteered at a hospital, tutored, campaigned for Mejias, and fundraised. 8) Received Honors such as Triple "C" award, student of the month, honor roll, honor society, French honor society, and business honor society. 9) Skills: Quadlingual and Microsoft MOS certified Please share your accepts and stats :)))))) Even if you've been out of school for a while

    Answer:
Don't remember everything, but here goes: Undergrad: 3.6 gpa, 26 ACT (not sure what that translates to for SAT), one sport, other pretty irrelevant things. Got into the only 3 schools I applied to: Michigan State, CMU, WMU. Grad: 3.7 gpa, no GRE required, 3 leadership positions, 4 significant volunteer positions, two BAs (Accounting and Spanish) in 4 years. Got into the only school I applied to (and the only one I'd have wanted to go): University of Michigan. Next step: Apply to U of M, U-Chicago, U-Washington, UC-Berkeley for Ph.D., apply to U of M and Yale for post-grad fellowships. Good luck! Study hard and don't drink too much beer!

What do you think of this trade if it was initiated before the draft?
    Question:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=2367~62 1~687~1021~2417~2748~539~617~1823~1013~615~261~2800&teams=16~16~1 6~11~11~11~16~11~16~16~2~13~11 in addition Minnie gets the 5th pick and the 32nd pick from Boston and a 2008 first round pick of LA Indiana gets the 19th pick and 48th pick of LA I think it benefits all team since boston and LA needs a partner for pierce and kobe and minnie and indiana would be in a rebuilding mode without their superstars and getting some expiring contracts is what they would need. to the sports prodigy: If they trade KG they plan on rebuilding so its not much on taking a franchise player from another team but on going young and investing on talented and athletic young players. If this trade was consumated in real life MN would have got Jeff Green together with corey who was their own pick. plus they also get Tony Allen who I think is capable of becoming a legitimate star. So they will have 3 young players to build on. To medalphores: actually they only gave up 4 adn took 1 HUGE contract but they still have 11 on the line up. they could sign inexpensive free agents to fill the reserve slots. The best thing is they did'nt lose walton. To GRXXV!N T1!!...whatever: well you got your 2 points but dont bet on 10 points (",) To tofoley5000; I think you should read the question carefully before you react. My question specifically stated that the trade was intended BEFORE the draft.

    Answer:
I'm a Wolves fan, and I wish we would have been able to make something like that happen. I've enjoyed watching KG throughout his career here, but it's pretty obvious that he's going to be gone after this season....and this season won't amount to much.

Whats the weather in Boston in October?
    Question:
I'm having a wedding in october I was trying to plan a honeymoon that wasn't sooo gold. I though about the falls but, i guess its too cold in Oct. Then I thought about Boston.. Heck I dunno. I live in Indiana and we have like Thurs? Any suggestions? I was just kinda thinking boston beacuse my future husband love the red sox! I know they wouldnt be playing at that time but, we could still tour the stadium.. We only are looking at oct 26-30 because I want to be home for halloween :)

    Answer:
October 26-30 is about 2 weeks late for the height of the foliage season in nearby Vermont and New Hampshire, (and one week to late forb the height of foliage in the Berkshires) which would be honeymoon perfect. The Boston weather in late October is very similar to the weather in Indiana. If you must honeymoon then and wish to be near Boston consider getting a lovely B&B place on outer Cape Cod, which is surrounded at that time of year by the still (comparatively) warm ocean and miles of sand dunes without any crowds. Very romantic.

Now that Boston have "The Big Three"...what now for the Lakers?
    Question:
Boston being a champion contender, that's amazing. Now the Lakers have to build their own big three, so that the rivalry of Lakers and Boston will be resurrected again. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?playe rs=981~2748~1998~1016~3245~2760~615~3189&teams=11~11~11~11~11~13~ 13~13&te=&cash=11:13~13:11 The Indiana Pacers wants to rebuild then, build around Bynum. They don't want Odom then these trade is the most possible answer for them. Put some future 1st round and 2nd round draft picks too in the mix. Starting line-up Lakers: PG: Derek Fisher SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Danny Granger PF: Lamar Odom C: Jermain O'neal Bench: Farmar, Crintenton, Turriaf, Evans, Vujavic, Mihm, and add another big to make the front court a little bigger This won't make them a title contender yet, but will make them better. Trade Farmar or Crintenton too if Indiana wants them, just don't trade both of them. So what do you all think?

    Answer:
I would definitely do that if I were the Lakers because at best Bynum would probably develop into a JO-type player when he hits his prime. So in essence they would be skipping all the years of growing for him. However, it kind of feels like the Lakers are just giving a bunch of junk to the Pacers for a franchise player and promising youth. I am not a big fan of Radman, Cook, or Kwame. I believe that they are all overpaid and I would rather have Granger than any one of them. I think if LA could convince Indiana to do this, it would appease Kobe. However, I don't think that this starting lineup will become as great a team as some people project it to be. JO is too inconsistent in games played and effort.

An alcohol rehab in Jeffersonville, Indiana?
    Question:
Do you know where I can find an alcohol rehab in Jeffersonville, Indiana? My friend Joshua left three weeks ago to enter an alcohol rehab in Jeffersonville in order to deal with his drinking problem. The problem is that I miss him. I do. I really do. I want to see him so badly because I think I really have to tell him how I really feel. I think he got into all this drinking stuff because of me. Last year, Joshua told me that he loves me but I rejected him because at that time my focus was on my studies and not on relationships. After I rejected him, he suddenly became a frequent drinker which eventually led to alcoholism. Please help me find an alcohol rehab in Jeffersonville. I’m from Boston so I don’t know anything about Indiana. Please help me. He has to know that I love him too.

    Answer:
Feeling guilty? I guess it’s just normal for you to feel that way but I guess you should have told him how you really feel way earlier than now. If you really love him, you should have told him so after he confessed to you. It’s okay to admit that you love a person and explain to him that you’re still not ready to be in a relationship. If he loves you, he’ll wait. Look what happened: he started drinking and he become obsessed with it and it’s partly your fault. Anyway, I’m not here to blame you because I’m here to help you. I found some really helpful websites that contains some information about alcohol rehabs and treatment facilities in Jeffersonville. Go find him!
