It is the county seat of St. Clair County, and the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Belleville and the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows. George Blair named the city of Belleville in 1814. Blair was born in 1760. Blair's family was of Scottish ancestry; his father was born in Scotland. Blair donated an acre of his land for the Town Square and an additional 25 acres that adjoined the Square for the new County Seat, thereby replacing the old county seat in Cahokia, Illinois. Belleville was incorporated as a village in 1819, and became a city in 1850. Although the name "Belleville" is French for "Beautiful City", most of the population is of a German heritage. I'm planning a move and am having trouble finding good resources to look for jobs in my field. (I have no degree but much experience working with people with developmetal disabilites.) so any websites anyone has would be great!!!

Please be very careful when searching job sites such as Craigslist and hotjobs and always go with one's gut feeling. "If something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't" which is a variation of 'if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is' ;)
There was an incident where a young woman who was applying for a 'nanny' job advertised on Craigslist was tragically found dead in her car trunk, and a 19 year old male was arrested in connection. Perhaps looking at the websites of hospitals, nursing homes or schools in that area can provide some job leads. Just a word to the wise that if planning on meeting someone for an interview, please make sure that it's a public place, preferably at the established facility.

I'd say it's Approx. 780 miles give or take. Taking about 12 hours to get from Chicago, IL to Belleville, NJ
While you're in Chicago, IL you may find http://www.allofillinois.com to be of some use. I've found it to be useful when I traveled to Illinois in the past.

i need to find airports near belleville Illinois?
Answer:
Your best bet is Lambert (aka St Louis International). Another airport close by is Midamerica about 10 minutes from Belleville but I don't know how you will possibly find a flight in or out of that place. It doesn't do much business.
Honestly, Lambert isn't far from Belleville (I used to live in Blvl AND StL) and it's VERY easy to get to.
As an airport, if you take Southwest or some other airline that flies out of the East Terminal, you'll have NO problem whatsoever getting in and out of the airport. The East Terminal is newer than the rest of the airport and way easier to navigate.
MidAmerica is closer to Belleville (practically adjacent) but you'll have an easier time getting flights in/out of Lambert.
