Questions Possibly Related to Auburn, IllinoisProvided By Y! Answers
What College Should My Son go to, Alabama Auburn, Indiana, or Illinois? He was accepted in all of them! HELP!? Question:
He is Interested In Athletics! SO i wonder which one is the best for athletics!?
Answer:
He need to figure out (you can help, btw) which college is the best fit for him. Because while I might tell you that, of those, Indiana is the highest ranked (or not), rankings are trumped by fit. He must go where he thinks he'll do well.
Cost and etc. does come into play as well. If he's in-state Illinois, for example, you can let that sway you.
In terms of most rankings list (because it can be a factor), they rank as follows, top to less-top:
- U Illinois Urbana Champaign
- Indiana U
- U Alabama
- Auburn
Of those, Illinois is, like, 35 places above Indiana, which is maybe 20 places above Alabama and Auburn. But all are strong schools. U Illinois is a much higher ranked school that the others, though. And then consider his major - if he's engineering, for example, I'd strongly suggest he to go U of Illinois, which is one of the best undergrad engineering schools in the US.
So there's a lot to consider. Prestige. Fit. Cost. Etc. You can help him think through all this, but he really is the one who needs to make the final decision.

Do you feel Auburn deserves to be in the top 25? Question: They're the only 2 loss team in the top 25, 3 other teams fell out of the top 25 after getting their 2nd loss of the were Wisconsin to OSU, Oregon to USC, Fresno St to Hawaii in OT.
Does Auburn really deserve to be in the top 25 when there are teams like Northwestern 5-0, Tulsa 5-0, FSU 4-1, Cal 4-1, Georgia Tech 4-1, Illinois 3-2 (only losses came from top 10 teams), etc.
Is Auburn given too much credit especially since their only wins came against Louisiana Monrone, Southern Miss, Miss St, and Tennessee?
Calill - Uh yea a couple of those teams can beat them... didn't Auburn barely beat Tennessee who lost to UCLA and barely beat Miss St. I don't see why not and they lost to Vandy. Auburn has been far from impressive this season especially on the road.
And you're a LSU fan so obviously you're pulling for them when they hung up 21 points on you guys and almost beat you. But frankly they really haven't proven they're top 25 material and I definitely see a team like Illinois or Florida State beating them.
Answer:
Absolutely not. If there we two phenominally overrated teams in the top 25 this year, they were Auburn and Clemson. Auburn has a decent defense and absolutely no offense to speak of. If Auburn were in any other conference (including the Big-12), they'd of been a complete after-thought as of last weekend.
It will probably take another 2 or 3 years of having 2 good teams and a bunch of mediocre & bad teams (just like everyone else) for the AP retards to finally stop overestimating every single team in the SEC. I mean, how many other conferences have undefeated & one-loss teams that are nowhere near the top 25? A bunch. Just because every team in the SEC randomly & unexpectedly losses to everyone else in the SEC doesn't make it the best conference.
|
Why is it the SEC is sooooo overated and babied by the media? Question: All I ever hear is how the SEC is so great and there are no bad losses in conference play. BULLCRAP!!!! So called Mighty Florida lost to a mediocre Auburn team yesterday!!! I'm sure all the press will say is "oh. . it's SEC play. . .this isn't a bad loss". What about Oklahoma then . . .how about their loss to Colorado? Is this just a "tough conference game as well and not a bad loss"? And what about Penn State losing to Illinois. . . . the same thing again? It's high time the media stop babying the SEC!!! Sure Florida killed Ohio State last year but by rights they didn't belong in that game. Urban Meyers shamless self promotion and the SEC loving press got them there. I hope Kentucky kicks the balls of the SEC this year (probably wont) just to shut everybody up. P.S. Charlie weis is a big douchebagg!
Answer:
Funny, I was thinking the same thing about the Pac-10. If USC isn't overrated then that word needs to be redefined.

Will Ohio State and LSU will meet in the 2007 BCS National Championship game? Question: Alot of people will agree with me when I say that Ohio State should be #2 and LSU is the undisputed best team in the land. Cal is overrated, and will get smashed by USC.
What Im wondering is if you guys think LSU can still make it through the SEC unscathed, because they still have to play at Kentucky, Auburn at home, at Alabama, and Arkansas at home. All that plus they will have to play the SEC Championship game, which will probably be a rematch with Florida or South Carolina. If they can make it through that schedule unscathed, then they deserve to win the National Title.
Ohio State has to play a schedule a bit less menacing, but still rough: at Penn State, Illinois at home, Wisconsin at home, at Michigan, those games arent as tough as LSUs unbelieveable SEC schedule, but if the team holds its own and runs the table, they should have a shot at the Championship. I think OSU can beat LSU, what do you think.
What is your Natl Title picture and prediction?
Answer:
Hard to say the way things have been going so far, so many upsets and in college football a lot of the time anything can happen.. When people talk bad about OSU (mostly Florida fans who are immature and last year is the only thing they will ever talk about) they fail to know a couple things, one, this is a new team and a new year. OSU has something they did not have last year. Thats a defense. If anybody has watched OSU games...you will know that the team may be more dangerous than people think... in the first half or so of the game they score quickly and after a comfortable lead. The replacement players come in and they basically idle to victory. I have been watching LSU games as well, they have not been doing so hot in the first half look at Tulane and Florida.. So to say LSU would definetly beat OSU... I just don't know...thats the great thing about college football, and people forget that......so to answer your question..I do think LSU will go all the way and I've got money on it being agaist OSU. Who will win? Well unlike last year OSU better come prepared and ready. I think it will actually be a great game. LSU better come prepared aswell, remember what happened to OSU last year and Miami in 02.

How on earth did UGA not skip over Arizona St. in the BCS rankings? Question: State beat an unranked conference oponent by four and UGA beat number 18 Auburn by 20+! This system caters to weaker conferences. Everybody should be sending Ron Zook and Illinois thank you cards, because they just gave us hope for a good championship game (provided LSU and Oregon win out).
Answer:
The SEC championship game will be the national championship game. Enough said.

I Need Help With Picking College Football Games, HELP? Question: Vanderbilt vs. Auburn
Michigan vs. Illinois
Arizona State at California
Wisconisn vs. Ohio State
Connecticut @ north carolina
Answer:
first off, i dont know why all of you think ASU will beat Cal.....Cal is a 9 point favorite for a reason
Vandy
Michigan
Cal
Wisconsin (they better be worried about my grad school in PSU next week)
UNC
being that aub vs vandy, wisc vs ohio st, and mich vs illinois are less than a touchdown spread. they will all be close games......home field plays a huge role in college football, thus my choosings in vandy, mich, and wisc.....taking these 3 will either make or break your chances in winnning.....but auburn looked flat AT Tennessee....auburn doesnt play well away from home.....same thing with illinois.....they had us beat last week 14-7, but then they fell apart on the road at PSU....ohio state/wisc is a toss up.....but i like wisc.....UNC is a gimme, and so is Cal.....like i said, 9 point favorite for a reason

How bout a Big 10 - SEC Challenge:? Question: Just like the Big 10 and the ACC do in basketball
how great would it be to see the #1 Big 10 team play the #1 SEC team in the first game of the next season and so on down the line
OBVIOUSLY not plausable
and it will never happen but it's fun to imagine right
-note- I realize most people are going to be ignorant/biased about this
so ask yourself this before you answer like
"OH the ______ conference would 100% destroy the ____"
have you answered a question today with something other than your favorite team or conference being the best?
(LSUsomething for an example)
and then try and be as objective as you can.
Ohio State v. Florida
Wisconsin v. Arkansas
Michigan v. LSU
Penn State v. Auburn
Purdue v. Tennessee
Minnesotta v. Georgia
Indiana v. Kentucky
Iowa v. South Carolina
Northwestern v. Alabama
Michigan State v. Ol' Miss
Illinois v. Vandy
-hope i got those matchups right-
but i see it being dam even 6-5 either way
Roger,
who wants to watch Indiana or Kentucky play anybody....
why not let them play eachother
and why focus my efforts on something that gets beat to death without anything ever being accomplished....
instead....i chose to bring something new/somewhat entertaining to the table
Well I knew LSUballs would chime in and be an idiot....
but i didn't expect anything as stupid as "Ol' Miss could win the big 10"
and to the guy who actually went at each matchup.....didn't Arkansas have McFadden last time they played Wisconsin?
LSUballs.....
I'm not proposing the matchup....I'm saying it would be interesting
and when did i say that florida wouldn't slaughter Ohio State....
I hate Ohio State and i think it's pretty obvious that this years Florida team would woop on them like last year
I also would give Auburn the win over my favorite team Penn State
Where do you even get any evidence that I'm bias?
every single answer I've seen from you either declares LSU the number one team next year, JRussel the best college prospect in years, or the SEC wooping a "soft" big 10
in one of your earlier posts you sited the big 10 getting hammered when going against other power conferences
but didn't mention Penn State beaging Tennessee last year or Wisconsin over Arkansas
I'm clearly not the bias one of the two of us
-----------------------------------------
Oh and have a good weekend
Answer:
ok well Im a UGA fan so SEC is my fave conf. but I will be as unbiased as possible.
Florida over OSU we seen it in the nat'l champ.
Ark over Wisc. D-mac is crazy
LSU over the blue despite losing Russell Landry and Bowe, the D is still powerful and fast
Penn State over Aub, Joe Paterno is just something u have to account for
Tennessee over purdue, Tennessee was on more of a development year last year but this year they should be a mature group, despite losing Robert Meachem
Indiana over Kentucky, Kentucky has alotta D problems and Indiana has an alright O
S. Car. over Iowa, I think Steve Spurrier will shape the gamecocks into more of a contending team this year
Alabame over NW because Alabama has a good running game, and NW's Lb's aren't athletic enough to account for it
MSU over Ole Miss, MSU is a good team overall even after losing their QB, they have a solid D that slowed down alot of good offenses last year
Vandy over Illinois, Vandy showed flashes of potential last year and dind't lose any big players and Illionois wasn't much of a competitor last year.
my count.
My biggest reason for taking the SEC over the Big 10 any way is because OSU completely dominated their division and then lost miserably to Florida. Florida had many close games and did lose in their Conf. so just on this assumption alone shows that SEC is alil tougher.
My score 8-3 SEC

I asked once but nobody replied, please help me out.? Question: Does anyone know of a good website where I can view and print out different hair colors? On Monday I am getting my hair done. About 9 months ago I bleached my hair, at a salon in Gurnee Illinois, now I am going to a salon in Rolla Missouri and having someone else do my hair, but I am not very satisfied when they do it. I want my hair to look platinum blonde with a dark blonde kind of auburn chunky low lights going through it, but whenever I tell her to do it like that, only the roots will turn the auburn color and where my hair was once bleached it stays light blonde. What is she doing wrong? The steak will only go about 1/4 down then stop. It's also kind of personal because my stylist is my cousin. Can someone give me advice on what can be done to prevent this from happening with my hair? And a website to find some colors? FYI she is a professional working in a salon, so it's not like I am doing it from a box or nothing, you'd think she's know what shes doing!! Apparently not! Thanks!
Answer:
Bleached hair is very porous. Normally when you want to color bleached hair a darker color, you need to "fill" it first (she should know this already), or the color wont stay. Try dying the pieces you want done with a semi or demi permanent brown color first. That will help the auburny color "grab" when you put it on later. Then, do the auburn color over the brown streaks. Mention the words "fill" and "grab" to her - maybe it will jog her memory.
The roots are the only parts turning auburn now because its your normal hair - not bleached. You're very lucky the auburn color put directly on bleach is not turning orange or pink!
