    Anna is a city in Union County, Illinois, United States. The population was 5,136 at the 2000 census. The town of Anna was named for the wife of the founder of the town, in 1854. For much of the twentieth century, Anna was a sundown town; at times it posted signs to that effect at its city limits. In 1909, in response to a lynching in another local town, a group of white residents drove the black residents out of town. As a result of the 1909 unrest, many residents and residents of nearby towns believe "Anna" stands for the acronym "Ain't No Niggers Allowed." Indeed, it is significant to note that most of the current African Americans in Anna are residents of the Illinois State Mental Hospital. Anna is located at 37°27′40″N 89°14′40″W / 37.46111, -89.24444 (37.460973, -89.244357). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.4 square miles (8.8 km²); of this, 0.01 square miles (0.3%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 5,136 people, 2,168 households, and 1,214 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,519.3 people per square mile (586.7/km²).     I'm looking for a very old, very small museum I went to as a child. I'm not even sure of the town. Southern Illinois, Union Co. or close. In the vacinity of Makenda, Cobden, Anna. I heard it had been moved to Appleknocker St. and combined w/ another. I could be way off on the towns. I just hope someone out there can put this together enough to know what I'm looking for.     Hi the Museum you are looking for is in fact in cobden the address is 117, Appleknocker Street, Cobden, Illinois. you can also go to www.illinoishistory.com. The Museum opened in 1961 with an emphasis on Indian Artifacts, but now they have Artifacts about the Civil War, Anna Kirkpatrick`s Pottery is also on show at the Museum.     The IDOPS only regulates licensing - they have no criminal investigative powers - you should ask the Attorney General that question. I have had contact with many state licensed people and agencies - only to find that I get a run around when it comes down to regulating and sanctioning them. Illinois IDOPS is a mess and it is not efficiently run.

Sometimes it would not work then during the day I could notice that I felt a bit of coolness (I then could turn the fan up and it would work fine).     That’s the last time she would let that happen. Anna couldn’t let it happen again it was getting out of control. Anna lives in the king of deep dish pizza otherwise known as Chicago Illinois. She has lived there since she was born. She never disliked the “windy city” she thought is was the best city in the world and never doubted it, she had great friends, great food and walking downtown could never fail to lift her spirits. Even though the winters were brutal and the crime rate was rottenshe was greatly optimistic. She was 5,3 had blonde hair, light skinned, and green eyes. Her best friends were Kayla who has been Anna’s friend since her first day at school they have had fights but never did anything really bad to hurt each other. Anna’s other best friend was Lily who was very serious about her school work and never really did anything to upset her parents like swear or be out to late. Anna and all her friends go to Brook’s Middle school. It wasn’t the best school but yet it wasn’t the worst. One day Anna was in math class and she was trying to daydream cause she was really good in math and she really knew everything the teacher was teaching, She aced every test. Anna was looking around the room and saw Lily, she didn’t look right Anna thought to herself usually Lily was about to fall asleep in class but now she was really hyper. Well she thought It was weird. Later that day they were in history and Lily forgot about the report she had to go on Eleanor Roosevelt and that counted 50% on your report card. No offence to her or anything but usually she is a bit of a “teacher’s pet” and usually doing her homework or a report is the number one thing on her mind, it’s the first thing she does when she gets home but missing this is really not like her. I glanced at Kayla and she was looking at Lily thinking the same thing, we looked at each other and were very confused. When we were out of school all three of us were walking home and I asked Lily why she missed her homework and she gave me the most half-witted answer I ever heard she said “I was busy.” Anna said, “what were you doing?” “None of your damn business! God! I just had some stuff to do!” She walks ahead of Kayla and Anna. Kayla and Anna were stunned and scared, that person that they were talking too was not the friend that they went to school with a week ago. When Anna and Kayla were walking home they talked about what Lily could be doing to herself. They really thought she was doing drugs but they couldn’t figure out why and who was supplying it. They new she was a girl who lets say “always listened to mommy and daddy.” Maybe she was trying to upset her parents. They knew they had to find out what was wrong with this girl if they didn’t she could really mess up her life. She have a future as a druggie or working at a minimum wage job for the rest of her life and always thinking back to when herself was 13 and she could of saved herself but gave into the addiction and didn’t go to rehab or get a shrink. The next day the three friends walked to school, the sky was a shade of gray and you could feel the humidity in the air. Anna asked Lily one question, “Why?” Lily stopped and looked at Anna with a straight face not even blinking, Then she ran ahead. Anna and Kayla tried to run ahead but then all of Kayla’s books fell out of her backpack so Anna and Kayla picked up the books but by the time they were done Lily was fare ahead. That day Kayla and Anna did not listen to one word the teacher said they were thinking about Lily and how they could help her. When the two friends got to lunch Lily wasn’t there. They looked down the lunch line, no Lily, in the hallway, no Lily, where is this girl. The two buddies looked in the girl’s bathroom sure enough lily was there, her face red as cherry, and as wet a waterfall. We quickly ran over to her and hugged her we asked her what was wrong. Then she said sniffling “My parents, I did everything they ever wanted. EVERYTHING! But now were moving. MOVING! Ok everything in my life was great but now. I took speed, you know the drug to upset my parents. I even let them find it in my room when they thought something was suspicious. When they found it I was there and I ran out the door, faster then I ever ran. Anna said, “Where do they want you to move and why?” They want me to move to Atlanta, Georgia because my dad is being transferred there and his job pays good, this isn’t fair. “Do they care about me, my life, what I have here in Chicago, as you say Anna Chicago is the best city in the world nothing will ever compare to this glamorous city. She blows her nose in a napkin and looks up at the ceiling and says in a quiet voice “Why me.” Anna and Kayla hug there vulnerable broken friend. There about to cry too. In conclusion Lily had to move, it was the hardest thing she ever had to o, leaving everything behind. Lily also never used “speed” again but her parents took her to a shrink which Lily doesn’t mind. In other matters Kayla and Anna are still best friends and still go to the same school. Lily come to Chicago every summer but she misses the winter.

    Why are so many people Mentally ill? in today's society?

    The News said that the shooter in Illinois who killed so many of those college students was not taking his meds? Brittney is out of control because she does not take her meds Heath Ledger and Anna Brown died because they took to many of their meds. Everyone is in rehab the list goes on and on...I had my time of living on the edge but never had to go to rehab, or take meds.. God, healthy mind body soul and a good glass of wine is what puts you on the right track....... maybe it's the water? or stress that knocks your balance off?

    I work in that "mentally ill" field and many of you have some valid points. The truth of the matter is, people are labeled according to their coping skills. No different than this group is labeled because of their religion or lack there of. Although, there are truly some people with chemical imbalances, the documented chemically imbalanced is less than one percent. Insurance companies want the label, people need the label so they can get the medication to keep themselves from having to exercise their own ability called self control. And let me not fail to mention, the average person is starving for attention. In today's society, almost everyone wants to be a part of something, and yet no one really wants to take the responsibility for being part of it. It is an incredible cycle that in my opinion can only be cured by relating. If you study history you will find people had more "friends" and 'family" to pull resources from. This was physical and emotional support which includes copying skills on how to deal with everyday trials and struggles. Family was a priority and although school was important it was not a substitute for parenting. I think I have blabbed enough. God Bless

    Expecting triplets! Please help, you don't have to have multiples.?

    Okay, So I currently have three children. Ages 7, 4, and 1 ( One boy, two girls.) And am now expecting three more kids. TRIPLETS. Although I'm excited for my new babies to arrive, I'm doing alot of worrying. I have enough to do with three kids, and I'm doubling that in one pregnancy. One think I need is some ideas on baby names for 1 boy and two girls. And, as most parents, I want them to sounds good with my other childrens names which are Kail, Lilliana (Lillie), And Annabelle (Anna). Another is advise on how to cope with 6 kids under the age of 7. And excesually 3 new borns. Please don't be afraid to voice your opinion and say what's on your mind. I really need some help on this one. And some people ask me how to pronounce my sons name, which is Kail. It's pronouced kay-el (Don't make the el sound so long. Sounds like pail or pale but with a K). And it's got some meaning to it. And me and my husband thought it was cute. We also like the name Ellington (Ellie). One of my professors in college had a little girl name Ellington Kay (Ellie). What do you think of that? We don't like names you hear everyday, for first names anyways. So, please no Sarahs and such. I know this is alot to ask, but all my family lives either across the states or out of the country. And my husbands not really close to anyone but his sister, and she lives in Illinois which is about a days drive away, and she has her own family.     Congratulations on the triplets! thats such a blessing! I dont know your spiritual state, but in my opinion, God wouldnt have blessed you with such a miracle if He didnt think you could cope. Im sure you're going to do just fine. Names eh?! For a girl, a few of my favorites are ; Roxana, Adrianah, Aubree, Haley,Tara, Anyah, Adison. For a boy i like common names, so im not going to be much help there haha. Orlando, Lucas, Nathanael and Sean are all cute. If you still can't figure out any names you like, i recomend this site, www.babynames.com . It has a wide range of names with meanings and various sets of information on choosing names! Just make sure not every single bit of your attention is towards the triplets. They'll need a lot of it, but so will your other children. Whenever you get the chance, spend as much time as you can with your other children. Ask them lots of questions about their day and such. An important part in eliminating jealousy is to get the older children involved with the babies as much as possible. Get them to participate in bathing the babies, feeding them and changing them. If you struggle with managing all your children, you could perhaps think about hiring a nanny. Im sure there are many out there who are willing to help. If your children arent at day care, it could be wise to think about sending them there sometimes, so that you can spend sometime at home by yourself relaxing. Well thats about it from me!     I dont know what to do

    So I was texting my boyfriend last night and I said 'I love you' he responds like this 'Anna, no. I cant do this. I have too much going on.' then he sends me a text right after that saying "...anna....i'm sorry". This is the second time he did this. Last time was about 3 weeks ago, but then the next day he called me and said "I'm sorry. I wish I never broke up with you. I want to hold on to you forever." so we get back together. He sends a friend of mine a message on myspace saying this "hold up man I didnt want to do this ihad to I haveto much crap goig on to worry about girls right now if Anna had of let me explain she would understand that so listen man my Dads in Illinois for four months Im stuck being the man of the house I am working on school and Martial Arts round the clock Im behind in 3 subjects and I CAN'T be dealing with chicks right now if I could worry about that I wouldnt of done what I did" What should I do? He called me 20 times today befor that message Also he wont answer any of my phone calls.

    I personally think if a guy doesn't know how to handle his situation, he isn't worth it. ESPECIALLY if he's putting martial arts/school/whatever bullsh!t excuses he needs to throw out while whining above you. But that's just me. :\
