    Help with history project!?
    Question:
In my 10th grade U.S. History class, our class is having a "moch" debate, in which each of us will be a representative at the Constitutional Convention. And we have to prepare and opening statement (1-2 minutes) and debate about the issues that they debated over in the convetion. I have Abraham Baldwin of Georgia. And all i can find are biographys, but i need more things about the way he felt on the issues. So, can you help me out? I want to get a good grade, and my teacher is a tough one. :-[

    Answer:
Baldwin strongly believed that education was the key to developing frontier states like Georgia. Once elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in the state legislature, he developed a comprehensive educational plan Through Baldwin's efforts, UGA became the first state-chartered school in the nation when UGA was incorporated on January 27, 1785. After his father died - he paid off his fathers debts and educated his half brothers & sisters - again showing how he felt about educaiton. He opposed extensive trade and relations with Great Britain, he favored agricutltural over industrial.

Which would you rather live in, and why? (TX, OK, KY, AL, MS, or GA)?
    Question:
For me, in order from most to least preferred: 1. TEXAS - by a longshot. Friendly and hospitable people, diversity in terrain, diverse and thriving cities, great job market, low cost of living, 80 MPH speed limits (in W. TX,) weather (mostly), bluebonnets. GOD BLESS TEXAS! I'd like to move there, it's great for conservatives like me. 2. Oklahoma - Okies are pretty nice, laid-back, diverse scenery, clean and nice cities (OKC, Tulsa) 3. Georgia - ATL rocks, the mountains are beautiful year-round, the women are gorgeous! 4. Mississippi - beeeautiful, has its own cool and unique subculture, but there are no real cities there 5. Alabama - the true "Heart of Dixie," B-ham and Baldwin Co. are nice areas, love the boiled peanuts 6. Kentucky - The only state of these six I don't like. The highways are terrible, people are impolite and stuck-up, and winters are too cold. It would be nothing w/o Louisville, and even that city is behind the times. I can't wait to leave!

    Answer:
Texas. 1)Have you ever looked at a map of the world? Look at Texas with me just for a second. That picture, with the Panhandle and the Gulf Coast, and the Red River and the Rio Grande is as much a part of you as anything ever will be.. As soon as anyone anywhere in the world looks at it they know what it is. It's Texas. Pick any kid off the street in Japan and draw him a picture of Texas in the dirt and he'll know what it is. What happens if I show you a picture of any other state? You might get it maybe after a second or two, but who else would? And even if you do, does it ever stir any feelings in you? 2) beautiful scenery- bluebonnets, rolling plains, gentle hills 3) San Antonio,Houston,Dallas,Corpus Christi, South Padre,Galveston,Port Aransas 4) Best Football in the country- Odessa especially. Its not just a game here, its a way of life 5)Did you ever hear anyone in a bar go, "Wow...so you're from Iowa? Cool, tell me about it?" Do you know why? Because there's no place like Texas. 6)Texas is Sam Houston capturing Santa Ana at San Jacinto. 7)Texas is huge! forests of Piney Woods like the Davy Crockett National Forest. 8)Texas is breathtaking mountains in the Big Bend. 9)Texas is the unparalleled beauty of bluebonnet fields in the Texas Hill Country. 10)Texas is the beautiful, warm beaches of the Gulf Coast of South Texas. 11)Texas is the shiny skyscrapers in Houston and Dallas. 12)Texas is world record bass from places like Lake Fork. 13)Texas is Mexican food like nowhere else, not even Mexico. 14)Texas is the Fort Worth Stockyards, Bass Hall, the Ballpark in Arlington and the Astrodome. 15)Texas is larger-than-life legends like Michael DeBakey, Denton Cooley, Willie Nelson, Buddy Holly, Waylon Jennings, Janis Joplin, Kris Kristofferson, Tom Landry, Darrell Royal, ZZ Top, Eric Dickerson, Earl Campbell, Nolan Ryan, Sam Rayburn, and Lyndon B.Johnson. 16)By federal law, Texas is the only state in the U.S. that can fly its flag at the same height as the U.S. flag. Think about that for a second. You fly the Stars and Stripes at 20 feet in Maryland, California, or Maine and your state flag, whatever it is, goes at 17 feet. You fly the Stars and Stripes in front of Pine Tree High in Longview or any place else at 20 feet, the Lone Star flies at the same height - 20 feet. Do you know why? Because it is the only state that was a republic before it became a state. Texas was the only state to join the U.S. through treaty, not annexation 17)Also, being a Texan is as high as being an American down here. Our capitol is the only one in the country that is taller than the capitol building in Washington, D.C. and we can divide our state into five states at any time if we wanted to! We included these things as part of the deal when we came on. That's the best part, right there 18) Chuck Norris, enough said

He is trying to have his cake and eat it too, he did not campaign for a seat in the US Senate until 2 years after the war began, at that point anyone knew it was not a good war! no where am I a Hillary supporter, she is better than Obama but neither will beat McCain!

    Answer:
No he's not on there he's a shyster double-talking lawyer, inexperienced candidate, and vicious manipulator, who should prove himself in the Senate, not use his deep pockets to smear Hillary 24/7 and undermine a Democrat win! Great Question and Documentation ;-)

What do Republikans think about this? "Ron Paul says he turned down appeal to endorse McCain."?
    Question:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080910/ap_on_el_pr/ron_paul_third_pa rties Paul says he turned down appeal to endorse McCain By SUZANNE GAMBOA, Associated Press Writer 22 minutes ago WASHINGTON - Republican Rep. Ron Paul, the libertarian-leaning Texas lawmaker who attracted a devoted following in the GOP primaries, said Wednesday he rejected an appeal to endorse John McCain's presidential bid. Paul said the request came from Phil Gramm, the former McCain adviser and ex-senator whom the campaign jettisoned after he said the country was a "nation of whiners" about the economy. Gramm defeated Paul in the Republican primary for the Senate in 1984. Speaking to reporters at a news conference, Paul said Gramm called him this week and told him, "You need to endorse McCain." The Texas congressman said he refused. "The idea was that he would do less harm than the other candidate," Paul said. Paul won no primaries in the Republican nomination contest but developed a strong following on the Internet. He appeared at a news conference with three third-party candidates: independent Ralph Nader; former Georgia Democratic Rep. Cynthia McKinney, the Green Party candidate; and Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate. Bob Barr, the Libertarian candidate, was invited but said at his own news conference later that he declined because Paul didn't endorse one candidate. "We need today, now, 55 days before this election, bold, focused, specific leadership and that is not the amorphous kind that says any of the above or none of the above," Barr said. Barr said he had asked Paul to join him as his running mate on the Libertarian Party ticket while his current running mate, Wayne Root would step aside. "We don't anticopate that he will," Barr said. Earlier, Paul called the presidential elections a charade and said voters are faced with the "lesser of two evils." The majority of Americans, about 60 percent, are unhappy with their choices in the race, Paul said. He urged the three third-party candidates to bring all their supporters together to vote against the "establishment candidates." Paul, 73, a former doctor, ran for president as the Libertarian candidate in 1988. He is unopposed in the November race for his congressional seat. Nader derided media focus on what he called "lipstickgate," referring to the bickering between the McCain and Barack Obama campaigns over whether a phrase used by Obama was a sexist comment against Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. Nader, a consumer protection advocate, acknowledged differences among the third-party candidates such as government regulation of health and safety standards. But he added that he shares Paul's support for more opportunity in the political process for third-party candidates. Dontcha just LOVE Republikan stupidity? BlueJuliet -- Ron Paul IS a Republican. He is a REPUBLICAN Congressman from Texas. It's just that unlike the neoconservatives who have hijacked the Republican Party and turned it into «Die Nationalen Christlichen Republikanischen Weißen Partei der Leute für Gott und Land», Ron Paul actually happens to take the U.S. Constitution *seriously* -- and we liberals actually *respect* that!

    Answer:
I think the "good ol boys" party had better start learning a new dance as the Democrats could possibly in the "da house" come November. Ron Paul is in a position where he doesn't need to buckle under to anyone. Good for him.

Republican Ron Paul refuses to endorse McCain? Why?
    Question:
By SUZANNE GAMBOA, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 1 minute ago Note: I thought That McCain fired his lobbyist/ campaign advisor/ best friend, Phil Gramm (husband of Wendy Gramm former Enron auditor/employee dirty money) last month. I guess it was just a smoke screen to look like he was no longer in the pockets of the oil and drug corporations. Looks like Gramm is still working to get McCain elected for his (gramm's &mccains's special interest groups). WASHINGTON - Republican Rep. Excel and database?
    Question:
It appears that there is a translation problem from our server to a spreadsheet. Not every zip code has (-) a dash after it, but at least half do. The Pitney Bowes machine doesn't recognize this and adds it to a number 931226. This of course, messes up the entire mailer. Can I get this fixed? Answer:
I would ues the Length since the zip is either 5 without the new piece or 10 with it. You keep the form you like. The long form with a statement like if LEN(A1)=10 then keep A1 else add 5 blanks. IF(LEN(A1)=10,A1,A1&" ") If it prefers the short form then if the length is 5 keep A1 else only keep the 5 leftmost digits. IF(LEN(A1)=5,A1,LEFT(A1,5))
