City DescriptionBrandon is an unincorporated census-designated place in Hillsborough County, Florida, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 77,895. According to the American Fact Sheet, the community has a population in 2005 of 89,929, which is an increase of 15.4% or 12,034 people. There has been an idea to merge Brandon with the city of Tampa, which would make Tampa larger than Miami.
Brandon's census boundaries include Interstate 75 to the west, Valrico to the east, Riverview to the south, and Seffner to the north. The zip codes that served the area are 33509 (P.O. Station), 33510, and 33511.
Brandon is located at 27°56′5″N, 82°17′21″W (27.934651, -82.289078), which places it approximately midway between Tampa and Plant City and easily accessible from Interstate 4 and Interstate 75.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 29.3 square miles (75.9 km²), of which, 28.7 square miles (74.4 km²) of it is land and 0.6 square miles (1.5 km²) of it (1.95%) is water.

Have you ever considered adoping instead of getting a bird from a breeder? I'm a foster parent for Tampa Bay Parrot Rescue and let me tell you, there are a LOT of birds that need homes! Other groups besides TBPR exist in this area as well, including another great group called Safe Haven. All these birds are ones that were given up by their original owners and desperately need homes. The website for TBPR is http://www.tampabayparrotrescue.com/index.htm and for Safe Haven is http://www.safehavenfl.org/ Both groups have far more birds than they can list on their websites, so be sure to email them about a ringneck.
If you really, REALLY don't want to adopt (though I strongly encourage you to at least look into it :) there is a good store in Brandon right on Hwy 60 called "1-2 Tweet Birds." The owners are quite friendly and they do have ringnecks right now. As far as breeders go I'd trust them over a lot of the shady people you can find at bird shows that just make your skin crawl in their treatment of their birds. (I'm NOT saying all breeders are shady! just saying I've seen some pretty bad ones at shows is all) Their website is http://ottweet.com/

He is 18 years old and last time I knew lived with his dad but he pays for everything {apartment, food, bills, car insurance, etc.} Aware that he lives around the big department stores {major one around his house is Wal-mart and also lives near a Chuck E. Cheese} in the city (Brandon) possibiliy near the projects. Anybody know the street names around those places?

Usually we can't get there until 6 pm.

There are a few places, the first that comes to mind is Bennigan's on 60 across from the mall. It is 2 for 1 there, also , Chilis, and the Brandon Ale House. But it all depends on what you are looking for. I like O'Briens at Lumsden and Kings, but that is a personal opinion.

Oh my goodness my family lives there lol, I also grew up there but left in 96 for the navy lol. Well it really depends how old you are? Ybor is always a blast. Clearwater is cool, The beach and lots of clubs there. In Brandon theres really not a whole lot to do lol theres always the mall lol. I think theres a few bars on 60. Gl to ya.

You can call the local sheriff's office and ask them to send a patrol by their home. The officer can explain the situation and ask them to call home as soon as possible.
You can also send a letter through Fed-Ex. They have options that can have something to them by the next morning.

Lake Isotokpoga. Lake Toho. Kissimmee chain of Lakes. Crooked Lake. Any St. Johns River Basin lakes.
All of these are good places "nearby". However, if you want a chance at a "lunker" take a drive to Stickmarsh or Farm 13.
Lurewise: Paddle-tailed 7" worms in Motoroil, Red-Shad/Green glitter, Black, Black/Blue Flake, Junebug. OR Berkley Powerworms in the afore-mentioned colors.
Pull gold-bladed spinnerbaits in various OZ through maidencane and Hydrilla.
Flip offshore structure with Jigs.
Rip suspending Rapalas around channel drops and structure.
Rattle traps for "speed" fishing.
Find "current" & forage, and you will find fish.
