City DescriptionAventura is a planned city located in northeastern Miami-Dade County, Florida. The city name is from the Spanish word for "adventure," and was named "Aventura" because that was the name of the original group of condominium developments in the area. The name predates the well known mall (Aventura Mall) built near the condominium developments. According to the U.S. Census estimates of 2007, the city had a population of 29,475.
Most of what would later become the City of Aventura was initially developed during the late 1970s and into the 80s as a high-rise residential area by Oxford Development Company, when the area was still mostly swampland known as "Biscayne Gardens".
Aventura is also home to the Aventura Mall, a high-end regional mall which was developed by Ray Parello, Donny Soffer, and Eddie Lewis of Oxford Development and is currently owned by Simon Property Group and Turnberry Associates. The enormous success of the mall encouraged explosive growth in the area and saw the closure of stores at the competing The Mall at 163rd Street, which only recently has been revitalized. On November 7, 1995, the City of Aventura was incorporated.

i am looking for a realtor in aventura, florida? Question: I am looking for a realtor in aventura, fl? I want to find a good real estate agent? where can I find one?
Answer:
Hi Dan,
The two national cos. that I have both worked for and have great confidence in is C-21 and Coldwell banker.
Call into the office and make an apt. go in for a free no obligation chat. Talk about what you want to do. It's all free. If you like the professionalism with the agent you meet. You're all set. If you don't just leave when you've finished your free chat. Then go to the next co.
You can always call the office and ask for the Broker. Tell the Broker what you want and ask them for someone who is experienced with exemplary customer service record. They'll hook you up.
Best of luck

Mechanic recommendations in Miami/Ft Lauderdale Florida? Question: Can anyone recommend a good mechanic (or dissuade me from a particularly bad one) in the Aventura, Florida area? I need to take my 1996 Honda Civic in for some general maintenance. In three years of living here, I've taken it to Potamkin Honda (formerly Beach Honda) in North Miami Beach for two tune-ups, but I've since learned that a lot of other customers have had trouble with them, so I would like to find a reliable alternative. Any recommendations?
bobweb: Thank you for the link (www.iatn.net/shopfinder), but that only provides a listing of mechanics in my area (and an incomplete one at that). It doesn't contain customer reviews of any kind; hence it doesn't really tell me anything that the Yellow Pages can't. I have looked at many *find a mechanic* type sites, but none of them contain anything close to a complete listing of shops in my area, and the customer review data is sparse if it's even there at all.
I'm hoping that other people from the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area are willing to share any experiences with me — good or bad — that they have had with local mechanics.
