    Auburndale is a city in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 11,032 at the 2000 census. According to the U.S Census estimates of 2005, the city had a population of 12,381. Auburndale is located at 28°4′1″N, 81°47′43″W (28.066969, -81.795252). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 24.1 km² (9.3 mi²). 13.5 km² (5.2 mi²) of it is land and 10.6 km² (4.1 mi²) of it (43.87%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 11,032 people, 4,119 households, and 3,002 families residing in the city. The population density was 816.0/km² (2,113.5/mi²). There were 4,547 housing units at an average density of 336.3/km² (871.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 81.13% White, 12.26% African American, 0.26% Native American, 0.88% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 3.46% from other races, and 1.96% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 8.10% of the population.     I don't know if you've lived in Auburndale, but to me Polk County FL is "down home" living. That is, a large part of the population is just country folk. My grandparents lived in a doublewide in Polk County, down the road a piece from Auburndale. If you like country living then Auburndale is a great place to live.

    My sis found her place in winter springs and referred me to craigslist when I was hunting for one of my own. It is a townhome - brand new construction near the Winding Hollow area....1800 SqFt, 2 story, 2 car garage, 3 bed, 2.5 bath, large master suite, granite countertops, alarm system, gated community with a pool....etc the works - 1300 a month! I tried craigslist for rentals in the Fort Lauderdale area and found a condo that I'll be moving into next week. I swear by that site for rentals.

    You most likely will not find a horse or a trailer for free. Horses are expensive to buy and even more expensive to keep up. Try contacting your local humane society about horse rescues. If you can't afford to buy a horse and trailor- you can't afford to keep up a horse.
