What is the possible air speed of a 767-200 at 700' alt.? Question: Just wondering. this video says a 767-200 is not capable of more then 250/300 mph at 700ft. I think there wrong, because the airliner that hit the pentagon did with such force it destroyed most of the aircraft...It had to be moving over 500mph right?

Answer:
The 767 has a take off speed of about 120kn, and cruises at a maximum speed of 470kn at 35,000'. (specs)
At ground level, due to the drag, load, its speed would be limited to around 250-300kn. (1kn = 1.18mph)
