City DescriptionJamestown is a census-designated place (CDP) in Tuolumne County, California, United States. The population was 3,017 at the 2000 census.
Jamestown is located at 37°57′18″N 120°24′19″W / 37.955, -120.40528 (37.954956, -120.405306).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.1 square miles (7.9 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,017 people, 1,293 households, and 812 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 987.0 people per square mile (380.7/km²). There were 1,446 housing units at an average density of 473.0/sq mi (182.5/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 91.48% White, 0.10% African American, 2.22% Native American, 1.19% Asian, 0.27% Pacific Islander, 1.92% from other races, and 2.82% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 9.48% of the population.
There were 1,293 households out of which 26.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.9% were married couples living together, 13.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.2% were non-families. 31.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or ...
