Here we go again. Disgraced former Sheriff Mike Carona will soon receive his sentence, but his replacement, Sheriff Sandra Hutchens, is already being dragged down Carona Road by the same folks who supported Carona.

Take a look at the graphic above. She is offering a photo opportunity for the price of $1,600 - $3,200, at her upcoming fundraiser, on Jan. 22! Can't afford a picture? Well, you can attend this fundraiser for the paltry price of $250.

Now let's have a look at the folks who are on the Host Committee for this event:

    • Happy Birthday Tony!

I got a call tonight from State Senator Lou Correa, who was wondering why I wasn't at Tony Bushala's 50th Birthday Party, at the Commonwealth Lounge in Fullerton. Apparently his wife, Freydel, did email me but Lord knows what happened to that email. However, thanks to Lou my wife and I drove up to Fullerton and joined a huge party in celebrating Tony's birthday.

Tony is a businessman in Fullerton and he is one of our bloggers. He has his own blog, Friends for Fullerton's Future, which started late last year and recently tallied its first 10,000 visits. Tony is as big a troublemaker in Fullerton as I am in Santa Ana... But he is also a great guy - and he has a lot of friends.

Supervisor Chris Norby was at the party tonight too, as was Fullerton Mayor Sharon Quirk and Fullerton Councilman Shawn Nelson. O.C. Register editorial writer Steven Greenhut was there too, as was blogger and former Register editorial writer John Seiler. And I also had a chance to chat with O.C. Planning Commissioner Dave Zenger.

    City Description

Fullerton is a city located in northern Orange County, California, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 126,003. It was founded in 1887 by George and Edward Amerige and named for George H. Fullerton, who secured the land on behalf of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. Historically it was a center of agriculture, notably groves of Valencia oranges and other citrus crops; petroleum extraction; transportation; and manufacturing. It is home to several educational institutions, notably the California State University, Fullerton. Evidence of prehistoric habitation is present in Ralph B. Clark Regional Park in the northwest of the city. Europeans first passed through the area in 1769 when Gaspar de Portolà led an expedition north to establish Mission San Gabriel Arcangel, after whom the local Native American population were dubbed the Gabrieliños. The land later became part of Rancho San Juan Cajon de Santa Ana, granted to Juan Pacifico Ontiveros, a Spanish soldier. Ontiveros began to sell parcels of the Rancho to settlers flooding California in the aftermath of the 1849 Gold Rush, including Massachusetts native Abel Stearns. In the 1860s,
