City DescriptionForest Meadows is a census-designated place (CDP) in Calaveras County, California, United States. The population was 1,197 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.7 square miles (14.7 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,197 people, 531 households, and 398 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 211.6 people per square mile (81.7/km²). There were 660 housing units at an average density of 116.7/sq mi (45.0/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.66% White, 1.75% Native American, 0.67% Asian, 0.25% from other races, and 1.67% from two or more races. 3.59% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 531 households out of which 21.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.9% were married couples living together, 4.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.9% were non-families. 21.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.25 and the average family size was 2.58.
