City DescriptionEast Hemet is a census-designated place (CDP) in Riverside County, California, United States. The population was 14,823 at the 2000 census.
East Hemet is located at 33°44′10″N 116°56′25″W / 33.73611, -116.94028 (33.736120, -116.940305).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.2 square miles (8.3 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 14,823 people, 4,831 households, and 3,787 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 4,597.8 people per square mile (1,777.4/km²). There were 5,064 housing units at an average density of 1,570.7/sq mi (607.2/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 80.04% White, 1.54% Black or African American, 1.42% Native American, 1.04% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, 11.89% from other races, and 3.99% from two or more races. 24.91% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 4,831 households out of which 42.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.7% were married couples living together, 15.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.6% were non-families. 17.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.9% had someone living alone who ...
