- Minuteman founder Jim Gilchrist supports Sheriff Sandra Hutchens
Bad enough that Sheriff Sandra Hutchens is clearly supported by a slew of Carona hacks, as we revealed earlier this week, now it appears that Minuteman founder Jim Gilchrist is also a Hutchens supporter. The Mexican-hating Gilchrist, who aborted a run for Congress against Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez last year, wrote this comment in our Hutchens post: "You women-hating naysayers should should reel out for a while and just let Sheriff Hutchens do her job. Femininity in law enforcement is a reality, so get used to it." Click here to read the rest of this article.

- The Carona-ization of Sheriff Sandra Hutchens has begun
Here we go again. Disgraced former Sheriff Mike Carona will soon receive his sentence, but his replacement, Sheriff Sandra Hutchens, is already being dragged down Carona Road by the same folks who supported Carona. Take a look at the graphic above. She is offering a photo opportunity for the price of $1,600 - $3,200, at her upcoming fundraiser, on Jan. 22! Can't afford a picture? Well, you can attend this fundraiser for the paltry price of $250. Now let's have a look at the folks who are on the Host Committee for this event: Click here to read the rest of this article.

- Tran vs. Correa in 2010 - and Nguyen vs. Sanchez too?
Never mind 2009, the big year in O.C. politics will be 2010. That is when I suspect that Assemblyman Van Tran will finally go up against a real candidate. He will be termed out - and the only available opportunity will be to take on popular State Senator Lou Correa. That will be quite a war, but Correa should beat him handily. Tran does not have the pull he used to. One of the reasons Tran lost his groove is the advent of Supervisor Janet Nguyen, who has quickly become the New Van Tran. Nguyen will have a free shot at Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez. How will the Jannie turncoats in the DPOC deal with that? Click here to read the rest of this article.
- Focus on the 68th A.D. Democratic Assembly Delegate candidates
What fun! The Democrats get to vote again on Jan. 10 and 11, for their Assembly Delegates. We already wrote about the 69th A.D. delegate candidates - now we will focus in this post on the 68th A.D. Delegate candidates. You have to figure that Paul Lucas, who is running with his given first name of "John," has a solid chance of winning due to his name I.D. and his popularity with the Teamsters. Other men who are running include: Click here to read the rest of this article.

City DescriptionCosta Mesa is a suburban city in Orange County, California, United States. The population was 108,724 at the 2000 census. Since its incorporation in 1953, the city has grown from a semi-rural farming community of 16,840 to a suburban city with an economy based on retail, commerce and light manufacturing.
Members of the Gabrieleno/Tongva and Juaneño/Luiseño nations long inhabited the area. After the 1769 expedition of Gaspar de Portolà, a Spanish expedition led by Father Junípero Serra named the area Vallejo de Santa Ana (Valley of Saint Anne). On November 1, 1776, Mission San Juan Capistrano became the area's first permanent European settlement in Alta California, New Spain.
In 1801, the Spanish Empire granted 62,500 acres (253 km) to Jose Antonio Yorba, which he named Rancho San Antonio. Yorba's great rancho included the lands where the cities of Olive, Orange, Villa Park, Santa Ana, Tustin, Costa Mesa and Newport Beach stand today.
After the Mexican-American war, California became part of the United States and American settlers arrived in this area and formed the town of Fairview in the 1880s near the modern intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Adams Avenue. An 1889 flood wiped ... Read MoreCity Contained By:City Contains:- Vanguard University of Southern California
