What is the best route to take to get from Ashland, Oregon to Crescent City California? And how long will it?
    Question:
take? Is it an easy drive terrain-wise or does it mean driving through mountain passes or what? As much details as you can pass on, would be appreciated. correction: as many details, not much.

    Answer:
The safest route is to travel north on Interstate 5 to Grants Pass and take the U.S. 199 (Redwood Highway) directly to Crescent City. The trip will take you just under two-and-a-half hours. US 199 starts north of Crescent City at U.S. Route 101, running along the north edge of the Redwood National and State Parks. Once passing State Route 197, the route takes a steady but curvy climb through the Smith River National Recreation Area in the Six Rivers National Forest, following the middle fork of the Smith River. The route passes through the towns of Berteleda, Darlingonia, and Patrick Creek, before reaching Hazelview Summit at 2,092 feet and the town of Elk Valley, where Route 199 crosses into Oregon. Does anyone know Joshua Mcclellan, he goes by Josh. He used to live in Ashland, OR, then move to California.
    Question:
I tried people finders and post but nothing, so I thought I would try my luck on here. Thank you

    Answer:
I am a former resident of Ashland, Oregon, and a nearby town, called Sutherlin, Oregon. Remember it well. What you need to do is look at a map, and find the nearest towns...(in an Atlas), and get on the computer, and bring up the subject of oregonnewspapers and go to the site, and find the nearest newspapers to Ashland, and write a Dear Editor letter and submit it to those newspapers, and they will print it, and be sure and give a Secure/Permanent Address & phone # so persons can contact you. Also, look on the internet in the Residential section of the Phone Directory for Sutherlin or Roseburg, Oregon and you might find other persons by the last name of McClellan. Many people by that last name live in middle central Oklahoma too. That family helped Founded some of the Early Banks in this part of Oklahoma, when Oklahoma became a State in 1907, so these families were early settlers here long before 1907.

Name the 5 best mountains you have skied or boarded at?
    Question:
What state or country are they in, and are you a skier or boarder? I used to ski, but switched to boarding. My fav mountains so far have been: Heavenly at Tahoe Bachelor in Oregon Mt. Hood Meadows in Oregon Shasta in California Mt Ashland in Oregon

    Answer:
#1 Jackson Hole, WY Great variety of terrain, amazing steeps, great snow, great town. #2 Mammoth Mountain, CA Huge mountain, great terrain parks, tons of snow (668 inches last season!!) #3 Squaw Valley, CA Huge Mountain, great nightlife, close to many other resorts. #4 Steamboat, CO Best powder I've ever seen. Kinda small though. #5 Vail, CO great back bowls. too expensive. I have been snowboarding since '93.

Considering moving. What's the cheapest US city for freshly grown, organic fruits, berries & veggies?
    Question:
I'm interested in the cheapest prices for organic fruits and veggies as well as the freshest... I'm mostly considering CA, not sure whether north or south california would be best? Does south CA have cheaper organic produce than the northern area? Where does most of the US's produce originate? I'm considering the silicon valley area but am open. Also further north, in Oregon, what about eugene, ashland, portland, etc? I assume Farmers markets would have the freshest produce, but they are often not around in the winter and sometimes the they can be unreliable, but perhaps an area with the most farmers market would be the best way to go? It doesn't need to be organic per se, but definately what they call "no spray"... As a strict vegetarian, costs can add up otherwise... I just wanted to add.. I am not really looking to have my own garden. So perhaps the city with the most farmers markets would be best, i can guess that with more farmers markets there will be more competition and the prices will be lower. I will rate the best answer based upon any further links and data provided so I may further research the answer. thank you.

    Answer:
Portland Oregon is loaded with farmers markets, health and natural food stores & other healthy choices. There is a great farmers market down in the Park Blocks during the year at different times. Sauvie island is mostly agricultural land where you can go pick your own food.I know your question has to do with purchasing food but in addition to great food stores there are vegan/vegetarian/organic restaurants & cafes, Bars that serve cocktails made with organic juices, (The Farm is one) Coffee houses that serve organic vegan/vegetarian baked goods (The Fresh Pot has 2 locations and is independantly owned). There is a vegan convinence market called Food Fight, health food co-ops, and large health store chains. My favorite veg Cafe is the Paradox on Belmont in SE Portland. It's a Beatiful Pizza is good as well, and does soy chees and tofu pizza. My favorite food store is Peoples Co-op. How do we end sanctuary policies for illegals in our cities?
    Question:
An August 14, 2006 report produced by the Congressional Research Service listed 31 cities and counties that have "don't ask, don't tell" sanctuary policies in place. They are: Anchorage, Alaska Fairbanks, Alaska Chandler, Arizona Fresno, California Los Angeles, California San Diego, California San Francisco, California Sonoma County, California Evanston, Illinois Cicero, Illinois Cambridge, Massachusetts Orleans, Massachusetts Portland, Maine Baltimore, Maryland Takoma Park, Maryland Ann Arbor, Michigan Minneapolis, Minnesota Durham, North Carolina Albuquerque, New Mexico Aztec, New Mexico Rio Arriba County, New Mexico Sante Fe, New Mexico New York, New York Ashland, Oregon Gaston, Oregon Marion County, Oregon Austin, Texas Houston, Texas Katy, Texas Seattle, Washington Madison, Wisconsin. * Alaska and Oregon both have state-wide policies that forbid state agencies from using resources to enforce federal immigration law. Oregon law, however, does provide an exception to allow law enforcement officers to share information on immigration status with federal authorities with those arrested for criminal offenses. *Maine is also a sanctuary state Here is the source. Thanks for asking. Congressional Research Service, "Enforcing Immigration Law: The Role of State and Local Law Enforcement," Aug. 2006: http://www.ilw.com/immigdaily/news/2006,0912-crs.pdf Mo st of you are giving great answers. I'm sure there are several other cities not on the list.

    Answer:
If the federal government cut off all aid to sanctuary cities, they would comply with the law. If states cut off all state funds to sanctuary cities, they would comply as well. The mayors and council members of sanctuary cities should be tried for contempt of Congress and/or aiding and abetting crime.

Nice gay-friendly, low-crime town near Portland???
    Question:
I'm a teacher, am gay and have been burned by the rat race and crime of the big city back east. I've lived in California before and loved it, but it's so expensive and crime-ridden now. I'm thinking about Oregon and I hear only good things about it. I visited Ashland, OR once and loved it, but it's a bit remote for my taste. Any suggestions? I'm sure Portland's great and I want to be close enough to visit anytime I feel like it, but I'm really a small town guy at heart.

    Answer:
I am so with you! I'm also a teacher who loves the small town feel. There are quite a few "remote" areas near the metro area, which are great as they have that small town feel but yet are close enough to Portland to go catch a concert, lecture, or big event downtown. (By the way, the school districts the other person listed are not generally ones you want to get into...) I chose to live in Wilsonville, a very small town south of Portland. It's very quaint, pretty, and well kept as we have a large millionaire farming community (weird, I know). But, it's got a cute downtown, is incredibly safe, and it's still out in the "country" enough. Some others to look at: Government Camp (hard time commuting to work, though, and you must like snow), Aurora, Canby, Beavercreek. There's also Forest Grove, Banks, and Sandy but those would also make a big commute. My suggestion - use Edzapp to find a job and then look at what kind of commute you'd like. If you'd like, let me know what area you're teaching and I can let you know some good school districts and possibly any jobs that I know about.

Which route is nicer the Oregon Coast or the inland route along the 5 fwy?
    Question:
Hi, we are taking a road trip starting in los angeles, california to seatle, wa. We have 6 days to conclude this trip and we are coming back by plane. We are visiting the red wood coast in northern california (ferndale, eureka, redwoods) and going north from there to Ashland Oregon, I am having a hard time deciding wich route is nicer to take from there on, the one along the coast or the inland on the 5fwy? This is our first time visiting Oregon and I have no Idea, so any sugestions are very greatly apreciated! Even a Zigzag route from the cities along the 5fwy to the coast sounds good thank you so much

    Answer:
The 5 is fast and not that secnic until you get up near the Oregon border. So if you need to get there fast, use the 5. If you want to go slow and see beautiful things take the costal road and stop a lot. but either way you will have fun. If you get a chance stop by Mount Hood and stay at the lodge there. It was built during the depression and is really amazing. There is Skiing, even in the summer. Great food and beautiful surroundings. The lodge is hand made and stunning. Have fun.

Do you think this is ok for my english lit homework? ?
    Question:
I had to make a scene from a play, and write loads of stuff about the plot, my parents gave me a look which made me think they thought it was terrible. Whats your thoughts? English Lit Playwrite (Gothic theme) Having to Include a gothic theme within the story, has potholed me slightly from stretching out into certain areas of playwright. This means I have decided to go with the standard Gothic story, this is then, a nemesis creature, the plot of the story being to defeat this opponent. The background of the story I’ve decided to go with a more modern outlook, I would not want to go with a Dracula-type time period, as I will have more knowledge to source from if I write from a more modern era. I will have the majority of events happening in the town centre of this area. Which brings us to location, my choice of location is Chicago, and I find it’s so overwhelmingly large, that it is more believable that something terrible could be happening in it right now, I also think that because it’s such a cold temperature it will add to the gothic image. As I have only room for one scene within this coursework, I have decided to incorporate the most dramatic scene within this story, the main character, and a Rookie cop only just joining the force. The scene shows him being given a Minor case involving a disturbance within a small street, only to find out all is not as seems. Characters Flint smith = The main character in the play, he joined the force with his family murdered, hoping to bring justice to his deceased loved ones. He is of average height, brown hair, uneasy looking, but strong enough to fight for himself. Comparison = Matt Damon. P.Tenorman = Flint smith is often partnered up with Tennerman, it was easy to see from a mile away, flint smith respected tennerman, Tennerman likes to give him guidance, to becoming a good cop, and being a good person. Tennerman is no nonsence, 6 ft tall, muscular, and of black race. Comparison = Samuel L. Jackson. Chief A.williams = Police chief of the CPD, he is often not well respected; he has made many enemies within the police force for his actions. He is quite small and weedy, and insulting. He is Small approximately 5’3, Overweight. Comparison= Danny De Vito. Malcolm falcon = Soon to be tyrant of Chicago, once had many friends, then his mother died, and his father went mad. His dad moved him away, and his father vented all his frustrations out on his son. His son couldn’t take it anymore, and one day accidently killed his dad in self defence. The guilt, and Remorse soon took in and he then went insane, and turned into a psychopath. He has a tatty costume, with talons on his hand, and tattered wings, resembling his last companion, his falcon, which however died. He wears it in memory, and to scare his foes. He stands at an overwhelming height and possesses inhuman strength; no one knows where he has gained such strength from however. Comparison = (N/A) A tall character, with the acting ability to play a psychopath. Scene 2: DARK FORTUNE. Office of police chief A. Williams. Flint is being questioned, to help the police chief get a reading of what mission he would be suitable of. Williams is given many ECUS’, to give the audience a view of how he reacts to Flint’s personality. William’s desk is an absolute mess, and he looks like he is run down. He has a coffee mug and a cigar in his mouth, which he seems to be puffing to excess. Flint Looks alert, and slightly uneasy. He has the appearance of being out of place within the station. Williams has a Sarcastic tone to his voice at all times, as if he is patronising flint, does not value him. Williams: Name? Flint: Flint smith, Sir, Got first honours in training! My sergeant said that I was the best in our whole plat- -Williams cuts in. Williams: The names all I asked for sunshine! I’m the one doing the talking; you’ll speak when you’re spoken to! -Brief silence, while Williams reads part of flints file, close ups on Flints face, he looks Desperate for approval. Sound of cars passing in the background. Williams: Wait a minute this can’t be right, you’re the flint smith who was on the news? Both Parents murdered in California? -Flint nods his head in silent agreement. Williams: Huh... Looks like we got a celebrity in our midst, well I was going to give you desk work, seeing as you’re only a rookie, but... I’ve had a change of heart. There’s a disturbance down Ashland Avenue, I’m pairing you up with Tenorman, and he’s a lot better than you are, no matter what you might think. Don’t screw anything up, Check out what’s happening come back safe. Flint: Yes sir! - Flint walks out of the office, lookin
