- Correa appointed to chair the PERS Committee
State Senator Lou Correa (D-Anaheim) is going to really enjoy working in Sacramento now that his nemesis Don Perata is gone. (I can only imagine how he will celebrate if the Feds ever indict the wily Perata). The Sacramento Bee is reporting that Correa will now be the Chair of the State's PERS Committee. He was appointed by Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, who a few weeks ago flew down to Orange County to appear at a fundraiser for Correa. It looks like Correa is going to get along fine with his new boss. Click here to read the rest of this article.

City DescriptionAnaheim (pronounced /ˈænəhaɪm/ "ANNA-hime") is a city in Orange County, California. As of January 1, 2008, the city population was about 346,823, making it the 10th most-populated city in California and ranked 54th in the United States. The city anticipates that the population will surpass 400,000 by 2014 due to rapid development in its Platinum Triangle area as well as in Anaheim Hills area. Anaheim is the second most populous city in Orange County (behind Santa Ana) and second largest in terms of land area, and it is known for its theme parks, sports teams, and convention center.
Founded by fifty German families in 1857 and incorporated on February 10, 1870, Anaheim developed into an industrial center, producing electronics, aircraft parts, and canned fruit. It is the site of the Disneyland Resort, a world-famous grouping of theme parks and hotels which opened in 1955, Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Honda Center, and Anaheim Convention Center, the largest convention center on the American west coast. Its name is a blend of "Ana", after the nearby Santa Ana River, and "heim", a common German place name compound originally meaning "home".

Why do the hotels in Anaheim, California and most of Orange County refuse to hire blacks? Question: Why do hotels in Anaheim, California and most of Orange County like the Doubletree and Embassy Suites refuse to hire blacks and only hire Hispanics for hard labor and whites for prestigious positions? But they totally leave out blacks?
Answer:
I don't mean to instigate, but how do you have proof of this? Or are you just making a generalization (which I actually would agree with)?
The only rationale I could come up with is that Orange County is predominantly a republican area, with very conservative, traditional beliefs. Therefore, outside of the box thinking is not something they're used to.

What college is closest to Disneyland (anaheim California)? Question: I plan on going to a college in California that is really close to disneyland because I want to get a job there as well. So what colleges (particularly christian colleges) are near Anaheim California??
Answer:
Chapman College in the City of Orange is the closest Christian school. Christian schools a little farther away are Biola and Vanguard. For a bigger public school, Cal State Fullerton has bus service that I believe goes past Disneyland.

How does Disneyland in Anaheim California relate to the California life style that it is known.? Question: How does disneyland relate to the california life style?
i tink it may relate by the fact that disneyland is a place fulled with dreams just like california is.
any other opinions?
Answer:
This sounds like a question conjured up by a sadistic sociology professor. It really makes no sense.
But hey, I'm game. Let's see:
-Hollywood is all about fantasy, not reality. So is Disneyland.
-You spend a lot of time in Disneyland waiting in line, just like on the SoCal freeways.
-There are many different lands in Disneyland, all in one place. In SoCal, we have mountains, deserts, beaches, and urban areas all within easy access. You truly can ski in the morning and surf in the afternoon.
-Disneyland is all about variety and experience. So is SoCal.
Be sure to spell my name correctly when you give me credit. Thanks.

How are the roads from Phoenix, Arizona to Anaheim California? Question: Is it a pretty straight drive with no elevation or would there be some hills/mountains on the way that we would have to drive through?
Answer:
It's a four (and sometimes six) lane Interstate highway. There are some hills but you will not notice them. It can get quite windy around the Palm Springs area. It's roughly a 6 1/2 hour drive at the legal speed limit. Try to avoid the part from Riverside to Anaheim during the morning "rush" hours. The traffic is a nightmare. You can not bring fruit or plants into California, they check at the state line.

What kind of weather should I expect in Anaheim California in mid Feb.? Question: We live in Texas and would like to know if it is going to be cold at Disneyland.
Answer:
Moderate to warm weather. Expect mid to high 70's with chance of low 80s midday. Not likely to be different from that. At times in February a cold front comes through from the north, but that would push nighttime lows into the 40's ... by day time, I believe you can count on 70 or higher.
Clear skies almost all the time.

yes, there's a no camera rule. you can always sneak it in but that isn't encouraged cause if security catches you, you get kicked out. cellphone camera perhaps? but really, just enjoy the show, cameras are distractions anyways. have fun!!
EDIT/// yea some places dont enforce the rules, but HOB is really strict with security and stuff.

What days does the Electrical Parade run at Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim California? Question: Does it run every day of the week or just on Friday, Saturday and Sunday? I'm planning a trip there and their website doesn't say -- thanks for any help you can give me!
Answer:
You've can call them and ask. They are usually tremendously helpful. We buy passes every other year (because they are pricey) and this year is our off year so last time we were there was Christmas but when over the last three years they were only doing the electrical parade at California Adventure, Disneyland had different ones.
When I went to the website just now I found their schedule very easily. Put in the dates you are going at the top and you will get the schedule. For example, today Aug 19th, the electrical parade is at 8:45pm at California Adventure and it seems like it runs every day of the week but maybe that's just during summer so put in your dates or call and ask!
