The high quality food, & large portions makes you realize this is the real deal. Nothing better in Alpine or the east county, worth driving for. ( check out the desserts! )

Our favorite place to go sit down and have a well prepared, authentic, and attractive mexican dinner. The food, in my opinion, is the best of the many mexican food places here in Alpine. The service is always friendly and happy to answer questions (IE: Whats in the albondigas soup? or What exactly is adobada?) which is very helpful for us gringos. The environment of the resteraunt is very inviting and pleasant to relax and have a nice dinner in. The prices are definately reasonable for the quality of the place. Highly reccomended.

I have not been there in about three months so I'm not sure if things have changed but let me tell you they have amazing food! I've always enjoyed the service. I have two small children and they always seem to go the extra mile for me. I've had some of the best meals in my life there. That being said things can change so that other peson might be correct. The cost is high but it's well worth it they have quality food.

The three of us visited the Bread Basket on 12/07/08 where we have enjoyed good meals in the past. Our recent visit proved to be less than desireable. The service was slow, the waitress rude. The soup (while flavorfull) was luke warm as was the decaf coffee. The fried chicken was tasteless, not to mention the prices are too high. They brought us the wrong order (the more expensive dinner plate instead of the lunch plate we ordered) and the waitress said "sorry but I didn't hear you correctly" but they wern't willing to correct the bill. We won't be back.
