    i had a route when i was younger that was considered to be a drivers route, was alot of walking but luckily i lived near by and was willing to do the hour of walking every morning. that was over 10 yrs ago and at that time the newspaper companies were in the process of switching over to adult only or driver only routes. but in general now - they want someone more responsible thats a good part of the reason they are assigning drivers only routes. still you should call for yourself and request a small nearby route- they will be more likely to give the info about it to you if you are saying you will be completeing the route on your own. If they can offer something reasonable for your daughter - just take the route as your own and have your daughter do it (maybe with a little help such as a ride here and there from you) she can keep up with it and be as responsible as they desire.

    I am considering a move to SoCal and wanted to get some opinions on what is a nice place to move. I am 29 with no family, enjoy outdoor activities, shopping, beach, biking, hiking, etc. I have stayed in the Aliso Viejo, Dana Point area and thought it was a really cool area. I have heard mixed opinions about L.A. and San Diego. I basically am looking for an upscale area with low crime with people in the 20-40 year old age bracket. I like to be in or very close to restaurants, shopping, entertainment, nightlife, etc. If possible I would like to be close to the beach(5-10 mins). Thank you

    I currently live in LA, and know OC enough, but have lived in San Diego for 5 years, and I would say Pacific Beach in San Diego would be the best choice. I lived there when I was younger(I am 31 now), things are so much more laid back in San Diego, its not as much as a rat race, and isnt as crowded. Pacific Beach is upscale, Garnett Ave, has plenty of night clubs, bars, restruants, and shopping. The beach is great, and best of all people in San Diego are not as stuck up as in LA or OC. Most people are down to earth, and very friendly. I recall the days of being invited to parties and BBQs all the time, from people I didnt even know, and being welcomed as a friend. Not so much the case in LA. Its a complete different vibe. I also think the housing market in San Diego is doing much, much worse than LA, so you may be able to get a reasonably cheap place. The only reason I dont live there now, is the money is in LA for my career field, not so much in San Diego. If I could get a good paying job in San Diego, I would move back in a second.

    Orange County, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Beach Area... I reside in New York State. I am an Art Teacher and work at the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center in Niagara Falls, NY. I would be traveling with a friend to Orange County. My friend is a Sociology Professor in Niagara Falls, NY. We both reside in New York State and have been to Orange County, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Beach area a number of times. My sister and her husband live in Aliso Viejo and have resided there for about eight years or so. I thought I should mention that I do not house sit for a profession, but I would be seeking to house sit because of this particular situation. I have a very dear brother in-law who lives in Orange County and has been battling Melanoma for over five years. Unfortunately, he has taken a turn for the worse and we know that we will have to be coming out to your area at some point. It could be very soon. We would most likely be available for a week or so when the time comes. However, under these circumstances we do not have a date for when we will have to be traveling to Aliso Viejo. But, I thought that perhaps I would check into house sitting as an alternative to staying in a hotel when the time comes. I thought I could be providing a service in exchange for a home to stay in while I'm in California. This would probably be "a last minute situation" but, I would be more than willing to house sit if our times correspond. So, I encourage anyone to keep me posted about any potential dates that service may be required for house sitting over the next couple of weeks or months I am very responsible I live in and own my own home, I have also restored a number of homes in my area. So, I am very good at taking care of a home. The home I reside in is a Victorian that has five bedrooms and three floors, I am responsible for the cleaning and general up keep. My partner and long time spouse and I have both worked on restoring homes and are currently doing some renovation to the home we currently reside in. My friend is a home owner as well, is very responsible and actively supports the arts and many arts organizations.     The one thing you have to understand is that only about 10% of the country is PRO ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, and of that about 60% of that 10% are ILLEGAL INVADERS anyway. Most are uneducated and do not understand the laws or the reasoning around peoples desire to eliminate ILLEGAL INVADERS from this country. America is tired of supporting all these ILLEGAL INVADERS, we are tired of watching out tax dollars being spent on people that do not even belong here. PRO ILLEGALS are hypocrities and will say anything just to get their point across, when in reality, there is really no substantial evidence that ILLEGAL INVADERS benefit this country in any way, there is acctually LARGE QUANITIES of evidence that support the opposite.

    Where is a good place to live in Southern California? L.A, San Diego, or Orange County?

    I am considering a move to SoCal and wanted to get some opinions on what is a nice place to move. I am 29 with no family, enjoy outdoor activities, shopping, beach, biking, hiking, etc. I have stayed in the Aliso Viejo, Dana Point area and thought it was a really cool area. I have heard mixed opinions about L.A. and San Diego. I basically am looking for an upscale area with low crime with people in the 20-40 year old age bracket. I like to be in or very close to restaurants, shopping, entertainment, nightlife, etc. If possible I would like to be close to the beach(5-10 mins). Thank you

    Depends on your personality. If you like the bustle of a big city, LA is for you. Hollywood, nice restaurants, lots of shopping (near Santa Monica, etc), and a lot of nightlife/entertainment. Your beach won't be as close though. Certain parts of LA have high crime rates; I think San Diego has lower ones. If you are laid back and you are looking for a more outdoorsy place to live, San Diego is the place for you. I lived there for one year and it was amazing. We went hiking/biking every week and the beaches are really great. However, there isn't as much nightlife as LA. I guess in the end, you really just have to consider how important it is to you to be able to enjoy your outdoor activities. The thing about living in LA is that everything is slightly more expensive, but your shopping and entertainment is close by. You can drive to beaches too, just it will not be 5 - 10 minutes away.
