City DescriptionWinthrop is a township in Little River County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 186 at the 2000 census. The township was also home of Winthrop Rockefeller's election campaigns.
Winthrop is located at 33°49′53″N 94°21′13″W / 33.83139, -94.35361 (33.831338, -94.353629).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 186 people, 71 households, and 52 families residing in the township. The population density was 173.5 people per square mile (67.1/km²). There were 83 housing units at an average density of 77.4/sq mi (30.0/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 90.86% White, 2.69% Black or African American, 2.69% Native American, 0.54% from other races, and 3.23% from two or more races. 2.15% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
