City DescriptionWilmot is a city in Ashley County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 786 at the 2000 census.
Wilmot is located at 33°3′33″N 91°34′26″W / 33.05917, -91.57389 (33.059261, -91.573931).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.8 km²), of which, 1.9 square miles (4.8 km²) of it is land and 0.53% is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 786 people, 290 households, and 187 families residing in the city. The population density was 422.7 people per square mile (163.2/km²). There were 367 housing units at an average density of 197.4/sq mi (76.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 24.17% White, 75.19% Black or African American, and 0.64% from two or more races. 0.64% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 290 households out of which 27.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.5% were married couples living together, 24.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.2% were non-families. 33.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
