City DescriptionSidney is a town in Sharp County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 275 at the 2000 census.
Sidney is located at 36°0′16″N 91°39′33″W / 36.00444, -91.65917 (36.004326, -91.659115).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 5.6 km² (2.2 mi²), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 275 people, 80 households, and 58 families residing in the town. The population density was 48.9/km² (126.4/mi²). There were 94 housing units at an average density of 16.7/km² (43.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 97.09% White, 1.09% Native American, and 1.82% from two or more races. 0.73% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 80 households out of which 32.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.5% were married couples living together, 10.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.5% were non-families. 26.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 3.05.
