City Description

Sherrill is a town in Jefferson County, Arkansas, United States. Its population was 126 at the 2000 U.S. census. It is included in the Pine Bluff, Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area. Sherrill is located at 34°23′5″N 91°57′3″W / 34.38472, -91.95083 (34.384811, -91.950841). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.4 km² (0.1 mi²), all land. As of the census of 2000, there were 126 people, 51 households, and 39 families residing in the town. The population density was 347.5/km² (895.9/mi²). There were 54 housing units at an average density of 148.9/km² (384.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 80.95% White and 19.05% Black or African American. There were 51 households out of which 31.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.7% were married couples living together, 9.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.5% were non-families. 19.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 2.85. In the town the population was spread out with 23.8% under the age of 18, 5.6% from 18
