  A vehicle reported stolen June 30 was found burned in Perla on Wednesday night, according to Malvern Police Department reports.

City Description

Perla is a town in Hot Spring County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 115 at the 2000 census. Perla is located at 34°21′52″N 92°46′44″W / 34.36444, -92.77889 (34.364535, -92.778771). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.7 km² (0.6 mi²), all land. As of the census of 2000, there were 115 people, 56 households, and 30 families residing in the town. The population density was 69.4/km² (180.0/mi²). There were 67 housing units at an average density of 40.4/km² (104.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 36.52% White and 63.48% Black or African American. There were 56 households out of which 16.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 33.9% were married couples living together, 16.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 46.4% were non-families. 42.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.05 and the average family size was 2.87. In the town the population was spread out with 18.3% under the age of 18, 14.8% from 18 to 24, 24.3% from 25 to 44, 21.7% from 45 to 64, and 20.9% who were 65 years of
